They really need to adjust the pricing of this game. 59,99€ ??
Everything looks pretty good except the gameplay/gunplay itself is bland/boring. Killing the horders didn't feel satisfying. The hit feedback just isn't right. Kills/ragdolls happen too quick. Elite/Boss enemies die too fast and also move to fast imo. And they also appear way too often. Story missions seem to be too lenghty.. I could go on but mainly the gunplay needs to be worked on. The weapons basically feel all the same. The bullet damage is very high on all of them.
I've only played with Bots and they were good.

If you are playing this with your friends you will definitely enjoy this. I am not really sure why does it have so many negative review. Only "bad" thing is the price. However, this can be found on sale pretty often.
Considering it is campaign based it had fairly long play-through. I have spend 20h with my buddies (DLC included).
Coming from L4D there is not much to be seriously disappointed. Card system in the beginning is a bit overwhelming and you will have no idea what are you doing. This was probably introduced so there is replayability. At the end you don't even care anymore for corruption cards. Some corruption cards are annoying. The one where your health drops all the time. Counter for that is that food appears more often. Kinda cheap and creative.

You can summon Jeff, friendly zombie that fights by your side. Amazing!

Level design is hit and miss. DLC is significantly better compared to the rest of the game. Other levels feel uninspired.
Some bosses feel uninspired. Let's make it big and have a weak spot.

Overall not too bad. Enjoyed it! Buy only on sale!

Not a fan of this game at all. The gameplay is pretty bad and the story line does not make much sense. I initially played this game a while back when it was filled with bugs and glitches. Since then, they have fixed a good amount of issues, but they still couldn't seem to fix the horrible gameplay. The grabbing mechanics are extremely quirky and stupidly unrealistic. I also hate the card collecting they added to the game. This game makes no sense with having a card collecting system and eventually just creates an imbalance especially since it creates a difficulty spike while in game. One moment you will be doing very well, then the game decides to screw you over and overwhelm you with unbeatable zombies and monsters. Bottom line is, if the game is free, it might be worth playing. If you have to spend money on this game, go get a happy meal from McDonalds. You would enjoy that more.

Back 4 Backshots was such an amazing game. (my friend took his life while playing lol)

There is no pause, but if you stand still the zombies stop coming for the most part. Atleast for the past 5 or so hours I've been playing it no-stop, the card system is extremely strange and foreign to me, but I think I got it down.

It has a workshop element to a degree BECAUSE of the card system, where it affects stats and not graphics or audio.
(for everyone complaining it's not workshop compatible.)

In my opinion, solid game. The DLC and all that is something I'm not going to test until B4B is on sale again.

IT IS LIKE L4D, with an even longer campaign, stat and weapon modifications as well.

OVERALL: It's fun, it is pretty much the 3rd L4D involving more strategic thinking. With more options to customize your Character and loadouts.
As for everyone complaining about there not being a workshop, to that I say proudly.
"Dude, what is it you expect? It's a new game. If you CAN find a way to make it available through work shop with all the bonus little doohickeys and doodads that comes with the stat increases, the weapon modifications, the enemy modifications. If you know how to do all of that, apply for a job with the company and explain to them HOW you plan on getting the steam workshop set up on a game so complex, that you can make this a positive review game and not a game to only grab if it's on sale."

I really hope those discouraging reviews didn't ruin the possibility of another game like this. Or maybe the possible return of development. And additional content.

I also hope the delevopers stop doing DLC's and just put them into the game. THEN IT WOULD be worth 60$.

(Basing this off of the average amount of money you would spend to go to a movie theater and the entertainment you get out of it, assuming you paid for a party of 2.)

If you are looking for a fast paced and fairly deep co-op zombie shooter, this is most likely for you! I played the game in the launch month on PS4 and put many hours into it on that system as well as the PS5. The game has changed a lot since release. Now that I've had my hands on the best version on PC, I would highly recommend any platform you have available, and yes the DLC is worth it.

I think this title does excel in expanding what previous outings like L4D and L4D2 established, but added much more depth and intricacy to most of those facets and mechanics. The card system used to accentuate existing "Cleaners" allows for many different build types. When you unlock all the cards and get a grasp for how to utilize them most effectively, you can play however you want and feel very capable even on the hardest difficulties. You can be a healer, a melee, a sniper, a heavy weapons or explosives person. But you can also mix and match to your hearts desire and create very useful hybrid builds. I also think the campaign is pretty superb with it's level design and set pieces. There's no lack of detail when it comes to set dressing and immersion. There are a ton of infected types and modifiers which keep rounds feeling fresh and challenging.

Sound, graphics and performance are great, I think the game runs perfectly smooth and sounds awesome with a good pair of headphones and a proper EQ. The art direction is consistently super detailed and pretty grim, there's a lot the player can draw from to decode what the world is like under these conditions. The characters themselves have a bit of a larger-than-life feel but it isn't to a ridiculous level. Everything feels very cohesive.

If you were a veteran of L4D know that the PVP side of things is not there compared to something like Team Versus. I personally have yet to dabble in the Swarm mode, but people do play it. I like the campaign and that is my main focus when starting or joining a game. But that isn't to say that if another entry was made I wouldn't mind Team Versus being implemented, I think it would be amazing! Quickplay is a great way to join a run in progress, but first timers should really play through the campaign in it's entirety at least once on a lower difficulty (Recruit or Veteran) to better understand the game and not burden a team on Nightmare or No Hope when they don't even have a custom deck of cards. The bots provided are mostly capable if you want to play offline, but they definitely have short comings that are obvious during some sequences of the game.

Lastly I'll say that this game suffered from a lot of unjust negative feedback early on, which certainly affected growth of the player base. Much of the criticism was overblown, in my opinion, and this likely kept new players from joining up early on, which also hurts sales and makes a sequel even harder for the dev to sell to their publisher. Gamer outrage is a very typical response nowadays, but I think B4B is still strong and I never wait more than a few seconds to join up. So rest assured that lobbies will fill up quickly and enjoy the game!

THIS IS NOT YOUR AVERAGE ZOMBIE FPS GAME.

This game is fun IF and ONLY IF you come into it expecting a real challenge. The learning curve is just right for any budding gamer, but the zombie strength, numbers, and overall health in this game is unreal. IF you don't want a challenge and you just wanna relax and pop some skulls, do not play this game. If you're looking for a real challenge where you actually feel like you're fighting for your life, this is your game.

Wish this game wasn't abandoned, still so much potential.
