I re-installed to replay/finish the game. Enjoyed the small changes to the x-com experience, it was nice to have named soldiers; even if it was antithetical to the self-imposed narrative of the prior modern entries. Having faces in the world to expand and build upon for my nameless/faceless soldiers to mix with in future titles would be nice. The world that it proposes feels different than the outcome I would have expected from the end of X-Com 2, but it happens.

My complaint: there is now a 2k launcher too when there wasn't when I purchased the game. I'm tired of every company demanding "real estate" on my system. I'm tired of having a launcher to launch a launcher to launch a game. I'll launch all their published titles off my system into the trashcan.

After playing and finishing the game, all I can say is "If I could have been able to request for a refund, then I would have."

Don't get me wrong, it's a decent game by itself, however as an X-com title it was a disappointment.

The story is bad. All of a sudden the aliens are the good guys? Really? The story sucks. The gameplay is pretty bad aswell, static breachpoints into next room all the time. Boring.

Don't waste your money on this garbage. Not even with a discount of 99.9%. Waste of time if you like Xcom games.

This game falls short of expectations. While it introduces some interesting mechanics, they quickly become monotonous due to limited customization options.
The lack of replay value is its most significant drawback. I initially abandoned my playthrough out of boredom, only completing it years later when the repetition felt less pronounced after a long break.

Consider purchasing if it's heavily discounted and you're new to the XCOM series. Otherwise, XCOM 2 with its mod support offers a superior experience.

I'm hopeful that the developers will incorporate the successful elements of this game into future main series installments, refining and expanding upon them.

Preliminary Review: Good, I'm enjoying it.

2K launcher.

The UI constantly bugs out. Sometimes it shows blatantly incorrect information. Sometimes UI elements stick on the screen long after they should have gone away. Sometimes UI elements don't show up at all.

I tried saving my game and found there were already multiple autosaves, some of which were corrupted. That's right, the game automatically writes corrupted save files in the background while you play. It can detect this, because it warns you about the corruption when you access your saves, but it just goes ahead and clutters up your files with corrupt data anyway.

it removed the one big thing that set xcom apart from it's competitors; permadeath of the characters. now you automaticly loose if someone dies and you don't even create the characters yourself. Because of this you can't even loose a mission so there is no longer any punishment to loosing. if you'll excuse me i'll go back and play som more xcom 2

Can't be compared to 2, still XCOM though, and still fun even if it's woke alien buddy cop
