Steam controller not responding

I was just trying to play and the game wasn't recognizing my steam controller. Other games are still working with it, and I previously got the demo working with it, so I'm not really sure what's the deal. It's probably something on my end, so I'll keep troubleshooting, but if you have any ideas on why this might be, I'd appreciate the help....

Wired xbox 360 controller not recognized

I've read the other threads with similar issues but I've had no luck trying the workarounds. I'm using an Xbox 360 wired controller. It works in other games, but is not recognized by Velvet Guard (doesn't even work on the menu). I've tried multiple controllers on 2 different PC's with no luck. I've tried every combination of controller settings in steam I could think of and still no luck. Anyone else successfully using wired 360 controllers?...
