I bought MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries hoping for a nostalgic trip back to the 90s, only to realize that some things are better left in the past. The gameplay feels just as clunky and uninspired as it did decades ago—slow, repetitive, and lacking any real excitement. Combat quickly turns into a dull grind, the AI is brain-dead, and the missions all blur together into the same uninspired loop. Instead of an evolution, it feels like the same old mech slog with shinier graphics. If you loved the old games, maybe you’ll find something here, but for me, it’s just outdated and lifeless.
