Experiencing the world with nothing more than a camera, a voice recorder, and a bicycle. Taking notes, meeting new people, exploring homes - once lively; now abandoned. SEASON: A letter to the future made me nostalgic for a time and place I don't know yet.

As a hobby photographer with a tendency to collect memories in form of trinkets and physical artefacts I tremendously enjoyed this game. You as the player are not being rushed by having to complete tasks in a certain time frame and are therefore able to make the most of it. The light falls through the treetops in a beautiful orange? Take a picture! The river is rushing by in an endless murmur? Record it. There are no wrong things to document. You won't run out of film nor tape. You're left complete freedom over how you want to fill your journal pages while following the storyline, so get creative!
The things you'll find and the people you meet will tell you about things you'll only ever understand to a certain amount. The more you explore, the more puzzle pieces you collect, the clearer gets the picture (in a figurative sense).

The dialogues and thoughts of the player character are beautifully articulated and guarantee for the player themselves to become part of the story. Every non player character has an adorably unique style to them matching their personality and energy. You might struggle with navigating the bike in the beginning as it can go really fast but you can always go back a few steps in case you've missed anything and by the end you'll definitely get the hang of it. Plus, you can always teleport your bike to your person via the game menu if you lose it (or don't want to treck all the way back to where you've left it). There were a few visual glitches with the animation but they did not disturb the story in any sense.

I recommend SEASON: A letter to the future to people who have enjoyed the freedom of Journey and the nostalgia of Life Is Strange, and every free spirit ready to explore unknown places, religions and believes, tragic stories and what remains after everything changes.

beautiful narrative complimented by being able to craft your own journal pages--i loved making sure to take pictures and audio recordings of everything as i traversed the valley. definitely cried a handful of times... a short, leisurely play that's worth every dollar

Breathtaking visuals, a touching story and really fun exploration mechanics. Backpacking around on a bycicle and journaling through it is incredible, especially considering how players can personalize the journal through of most of their journey (some pages have mandatory designs, for the sake of figuring out key story elements, which makes sense).

Beautiful. Cute. Melancholy. Funny. Fantastical yet achingly grounded. A combination wide-linear scrapbooking sim and poetic, poignant meditation on faith, loss, social upheaval, and the simple pleasure of having a little bike where you can ring the bell whenever you want. If, like me, you think the things that make games art -- or at least memorable -- are choice and exploration, then Season has both in spades. Fittingly, it's simply unforgettable.
