Hunt: Showdown was an amazing and fun game.
Hunt: Showdown 1896 is a joke. A bad one.

This isn't Hunt Showdown anymore. It's Crytek's attempt to make their own version of Fortnite or Warzone using an extraction Shooter they already had dozens of thousands of players playing. The entire game's atmosphere and lore have vanished in the last year while new fanboys are still trying to convince the older players they're just being babies and that the new casual playerbase is worth the loss of the core audience.

-$40 for the game (when I purchased it) and now they expect a $15 battlepass per event
-The events are more active than the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ base game is
-The events themselves completely spit on the game's established artstyle, atmosphere, and lore.
-The events themselves used to be free and completely doable in 2 weeks through just playing. Now theyre overpriced and take 2 months to finish if you arent a jobless fanboy.

The proximity chat is one of my favorite things in this game, I like to breathe heavy into the mic as I'm chasing someone down with my katana. Gets me hard every time.

I'm pretty amazed at how far this game has come, all the way from what it was meant to be, to the higher quality animations and the different story elements. The game’s an absolute blast while also being a nerve wracking experience. There is no game like it. It is hands down one of the best games I have ever played and I have been playing video games for over 3 decades. It is just simply amazing. There is no game and I mean zero games in its league when it comes to sound! It is a masterpiece. It is very hard core and unforgiving always but especially when you start.

Seriously, few games have ever held my attention for this long. The pacing is fantastic - you spend 3 minutes running around for clues, lulled into a sense of complacency. Then, out of nowhere a shot whizzes past you. You get dropped into the action so quickly! But then some matches I could go through a whole game and not find a single player, the games can be pretty unpredictable in how they will go down, which is something I really like.

I got it as a gift shortly after it came out and I hated it so much cause I took it way too seriously. I was constantly dying and was mad at the game all the time so I stopped playing and didn’t touch it again till this year. I told myself to give it another try and just play to enjoy the game for what it is and to not take a loss too hard. Now I’m loving this game and have found I am playing way better too! Winning is awesome but I don’t care if I’ve won 3 rounds in a row or lost 10, I’m having fun!

Set in the darkest corners of the world, it packs the thrill of survival games into a match-based format. The hunt is the perfect example of you get out what you put in. I think this game has one of those better varities where if you can master a specific gun and using its strengths and accounting for its weaknesses, you can easily be successful. Sometimes I go in like, with precision and determination where I wanna be sweaty and clean up and get this done. Other times, I grab my Hillbilly, slap that man a double barrel, and run in screaming "A-YEEE HAWWWWWWWWWW!" at the top of my lungs shooting wildly as I go. If someone is on the fence don't be just buy it. Give it a fair shake and as many have mentioned plan on dying a lot in the beginning. If you come with the right mindset it may be the first shooter where after your tenth game in a row of getting stomped, you’ll just laugh it off as the game is just FUN.
