i saw in the game preview video on the store page and i saw crocodiles. can I pet them?

I played multiple games of Area 2 (Bay), Hard with Shotgun several days ago and again today and got top scores, and it's not recording. I've tried restarting, and everything I can think of short of reinstalling. I think it's broken because the top scores showing are very easy to beat (only 21,000 for this level and weapon). Is this a known issue? I'm playing in online mode....
