according to the trailer the animals just roll or whatever why is this? it really kills this game for me

I see gameplay on youtube and its no animation movement for animal or anything, so why so many positive review? for me though, this is joke game or maybe?

So playing through the game, I've noticed none of the usual HUD elements are showing at all (like the circle at the top of the screen or the shape that shows if you can ascend or descend into a new plain) and going into Help or Credits in settings has zero text appear at all. Got any fixes?...
