First time ever playing Amnesia DD, I can definitely see this games influence on some of the modern horror games like Visage. Pretty solid experience and definitely worth a playthrough.

Utterly atmospheric and terrifying (until you figure out the technique for just hiding in a corner until the chase music stops) first-person horror game that (while a little over-hyped) still has the power to unnerve you and make you shout a curse or two at the screen when a well-timed jump-scare makes you soil your pants.

The graphics may be a little old, but they still pack some moody punch, the music and sound design are superb (and are in fact the secret sauce that really ramps up the unease and anxiety), and while the physics are a little wonky in some of the puzzles, the gameplay is largely a great deal of fun (as long as you don't mind only playing for 40 or 50 minutes at a time because the tension is becoming just too much!).

Some of the writing and plot development are a little on the arcane (bordering on opaque) side of things, but overall this is a real gem.
