i love this game

This game is for masochists, no wonder why project moon fans are mentally ill.

I hesitate giving this game a thumbs up. On one hand, there is no game like this. The concept is amazing, the story and lore is intriguing, the abnormalities are all unique and interesting. It’s the gameplay that’s complete garbage. It’s fun when it works and it’s at its best, but at its worse? A waste of time, tedious, frustrating. There are too many contradicting gameplay mechanics which will have you restarting over and over with trial and error, or just impossible situations.

Let’s give some examples. Every so often you are forced to pick a new abnormality. To get more information, you need to send someone to do work with that abnormality. You have no idea what type of work, and bad work is often severely punishing by reducing their counter which is usually only 1 or 2. Only the first 2 risk levels ZAYIN and TETH can be safely worked on even if you follow the manual and work preferences. You may send an employee in and they may just die immediately because they did not have a stat high enough, but I’ve had times where they died anyway or went insane doing work even with all the conditions and work type met. After a certain quota of work, an alert goes off on a random abnormality which means you have to perform work on it. If you’re unlucky, you’ll be forced to sacrifice an employee’s life or sanity. If bad work is performed, some will escape containment. Later in the game as the max quota gets higher, random attacks occur in the facility such as mutant slugs or killer robots fill the hallways. You also have more dangerous abnormalities that need attention. You now have a murderous axe wielding employee on the loose, killer robots roaming the halls killing your clerks, one panicked employee, an escaped abnormality, yeah it’s best to restart the day… again.

Also, the best gear is tied to very specific conditions with multiple abnormalities or ALEPH, the most difficult risk level to maintain. So if you want good gear to stand a chance.. you have to go through the same cycle of pain I just told you about until you can do enough work to unlock the higher risk level information and then a ton of more work to afford their E.G.O weapons/armor for each employee, which you lose permanently if the employee dies.

The game tells you that it’s okay to lose employees due to trial and error. You lose points though for each death after the day is over which means you can’t afford to hire more employees or upgrade the ones that survived, so it’s still better to restart the day.

This could all be fixed in a sequel, but after doing some research on the developer it seems like this IP’s potential won’t be reached. They’ve opted to make a card battler and a gacha game instead of perfecting what they have

this game has a vertical diffucutly spike, is very stress induceing, and annyoing, BUT the story is really good, the characters are very developed, and we get Nuggets!!!
