A few people have reported that they are experiencing a bug crashing the game during the intro sequence. We are looking into this now and are hoping to have a fix in an update very soon.

WORK AROUND
In the meantime, a work around is to simply skip the intro before reaching the point of the crash (seems to be happening for most when Her Majesty walks in front of the bookcase, about 24 seconds into the sequence).

To skip the sequence double click left mouse or double tap the A button if you're using a gamepad before this point.

Good, bad or indifferent we've included all the reviews we've came across for Her Majesty's SPIFFING on all platforms and listed them below. For those sitting on the fence this will hopefully help inform you whether it's worth taking the plunge or passing by. From highest to lowest:

  Now that the credits have rolled we're left hoping for the return of captain English and sub lieutenant Jones (if the game sells well, so says the devs). The writing is very funny and although the game is short, it's full of laughs.

  The only problem with the game is that I wanted more of it. Her Majesty’s Spiffing will run you about four hours. Once you reach its end, the game is very clear with the player stating that ‘This story will continue… maybe… if we get enough sales’.

  ...If you like well made point and click games with a sense of humour then you'll like this. Here's hoping for a sequel.

  Monty Python Fans, kaufen und spielen. Der Humor ist bitterböse und am Punkt.

  Her Majesty's Spiffing has been a fantastic surprise. Small but sweet, it's some of the best British humour I've seen packaged into a game, and a good point-and-click venture.

  Her Majesty’s Spiffing has a fitting graphic design with unique and amusing characters that come with big personalities and apt voice acting. You’ll get more than your fair share of fourth-wall breaking gags to keep you chuckling away.
  
  
• Game Grin, 8/10 (Xbox One)[www.gamegrin.com] -
  You would never know that this is the first game from Billy Goat Entertainment, from how well polished and written it is. Very funny and filled with pop culture references, it makes you hopeful for the post-Brexit future.
  
  
• Alternative Magazine Online, 8/10 (PC)[alternativemagazineonline.co.uk] -
  Her Majesty’s SPIFFING is very British, very funny and very much worth your time if you love adventure games. Let’s just hope enough people buy a copy to keep Captain English afloat in space. After all, we can’t let the French win!

  Great - An excellent piece of kit that offers value for money and adheres to high quality standards.
  
  
• This Is Xbox, 7.1/10 (Xbox One)[www.thisisxbox.com] -
  Her Majesty’s SPIFFING does a great job as a British tongue-in-cheek take on the likes of Broken Sword and Monkey Island. The graphics are perfect for the aim of the game and the voice-acting and scripting in the game is brilliant for the player.

  I would like to see more from this series for another great laugh thanks to its smart writing; whether it will materialise is another story.
  
  
• Adventure Gamers, 3/5 (PC)[www.adventuregamers.com] -
  In the end, Her Majesty's SPIFFING is like a story told over drinks at a Club: all digressions and anecdotes, rambling without any great urgency but plenty of charm.

Sorry everyone, it has been brought to our attention that on some version MacOS there is an issue preventing right clicking using a trackpad. We are working on a fix at the moment and anticipate uploading it tomorrow (Thursday 8th December).
