Back in time i put hundreds of hours on X3 TC/AP, while it was confusing and definitely hard to learn, I somehow learned the hard way on the go and sunk few hundreds hours, set up a fleet with "trader autopilot software" and all that stuff. Thing is, a lot of years have passed, and felt the itch of going back to a space sim. Elite Dangerous is not bad but is just about you alone on your ship in first person view, jumping countless times and the most you aspire is to get a maxed ship, but not...

Trying to use a complex construction kit. It won't connect them. Every time I tell the cap. to drop the kit it does. I move it close to the stations it jumps next to the sector gate. I have built complexes in several X3 games. How to do it with X3 FL?

I'm in early game, gone to the paranid sectors to meet my contact and was told I need to prove myself by killing some pirates. I was expecting some hostiles to spawn, but there's nothing there. I accepted a kill mission and found a friendly pirate, but I blasted him anyway. It didn't seem to move the plot on or register any progress (I'm expecting to kill "some" not just 1). Do they need to be hostile to me? After that I accepted an easy escort mission and a hostile single M5 pirate spawned, which I took...

I've started the game twice now and both times, I've got to the kill 5 pirates plot mission and both times, I have killed 5 pirates, but have no way to advance the plot. The second time, all the pirates have stopped spawning. Can anyone help?
