On the PS1, there is a game titled - Shaolin (PAL) / Lord of Fist (JPN) it never released in the NA, it's an open world King Fu game. Worth checking whilst this new game is being developed.

Just wanted to say I will buy the game on here too, it looks exactly like my kind of game. I'll double dip if only to ensure this game's successful. But I'd love a GOG copy as well, so I was wondering if there were any plans at a GOG release, too.

Trailer almost felt like an indie Yakuza game. Also sort reminded me of River city ransom because of the artstyle.
