A turn based classic dungeon cralwing RPG that takes place canonically between the episodes of the cult classic FPS... DUSK.

You may have some questions - well we've got answers!

(And by we I mean, me, Dave, CEO of New Blood. It's always me writing these updates for the last 10+ years. Hello ːbigjohnː)

Anyway...

Canonically? So when during DUSK does this take place?

Well, Dungeons of DUSK starts right after the end of Episode 1 of DUSK. Literally.

The first half of the game takes place between Episode 1 and Episode 2 and the second half takes place between Episode 2 and Episode 3. What, did you think our hero just magically got from place to place?!

Hell no - he was in some DUNGEONS the whole time... obviously.

So we've got:

• A 30 LEVEL CAMPAIGN WITH CHARACTER PROGRESSION AND NPCS

  • Yes indeed, this is a proper RPG. Skills and passive bonuses to obtain, plus NPCs to help in your quest.

• ENDLESS ARENA MODE TO TEST YOUR METTLE

Fight in an arena with resurrecting enemies for as long as you can

• BOSS RUSH MODE TO TEST YOUR WITS

Fight harder bosses in succession as fast as you can

• SURVIVAL MODE TO TEST YOUR SANITY

Permadeath, randomly generated dungeon mode for you masochists

• NEW ENEMIES TO MESS WITH YOUR HEAD

Including newer and weirder bosses.

• FAMILIAR FOES TO EAT YOUR LEAD

Now if that yellow fire axe tells you anything - it's that our main inspiration for Dungeons of DUSK was indeed... DOOM RPG. A mobile RPG version of DOOM made by Fountainhead Entertainment[en.wikipedia.org] that was punching well above its weight in 2005.

DOOM RPG was nothing anyone expected but everything it needed to be and more. It turned the classic DOOM formula of shotguns & demons into a bite sized RPG experience without too much bullshit on top.

Get your ass to mars, kill some demons, read some lore, interact with some NPCs, level up, rinse repeat.

It wasn't overly complicated and it was addictive as hell for those of us with flip phones in the early 2000s.

And personally, I've genuinely been blown away by not only the reaction to Dungeons of DUSK but by just how many people have the same fondness for DOOM/WOLF RPG and Orcs & Elves that we do. And so many of you clearly see Dungeons of DUSK as our obvious homage.

Anyhow, me and David have been talking about doing a DUSK RPG for some time - but we knew that:

A) We had to find a developer who knew how to make old school dungeon crawlers.

And

B) Loved DOOM RPG as much as we did.

The game is everything we want it to be.

• Will there be a level editor and Steam Workshop?

  • YES.

• Will there be a demo?

  • YES - At Steam Next Fest in February.

• How far along in development is the game?

  • It's been in development for almost a year

  • Most features and mechanics are done

  • Most game modes are working

  • There's about 6-7 levels of the campaign and two boss fights finished

• Will it be Early Access?

  • Probably not!

  • Unless we feel the need for even more feedback and testing than the demo will provide us.

• How much will it cost?

  • Probably around $16.99

• What platforms will it be on?

  • PC, Mac, Linux, Xbox, Playstation, Switch and iOS/Android. So, EVERY PLATFORM!
