I got this game on gog and i tried making it for for an hour looking online and trying everything. Nothing worked and I refunded. Is Steam version any different from gog? is it worth trying?

I'm trying to disable the shocked floors infront of the main storage cache, and i managed to get lucky enough to disable the force fields but not the floor. I have a very low science skill, so i've been using my only 6 luck to try and brute force the 2nd password, but no such luck. What other ways do I have to try and get into the storage area?
