Major Visual Overhaul Now Live

Based on player feedback, Bitter Harvest has undergone a massive graphical overhaul across the entire game.

Environments, character visuals, UI elements, and overall presentation have been reworked to improve clarity, cohesion, and atmosphere. This update touches nearly every area of the game and reflects the feedback shared during testing and early demo play.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to share thoughts and suggestions. The updated visuals are now live.

Option to disable lights flickering and screen flash?

I had to bail out of playing the demo, unfortunately, because the rapid flickering of the lanterns made me pretty immediately nauseated. I tried to get around it by getting through the day as early as I could to avoid them, but then tried to craft my first item and the full screen white flashes was not survivable. While it's an interesting challenge to close my eyes and try to hit the button on the right timer, it's not one particularly worth continuing. Especially since once the lanterns turned on, I was ...

Bitter Harvest Demo Launch Announement!

The Bitter Harvest demo launches Friday, February 6th.

A huge thank you to the 200+ players who took part in the playtest and shared feedback. Your reports and playtime directly shaped this demo release.

Based on the playtest, the following updates have been made:

Improved controller support, including mini-games and player-defined key bindings
Fixed furniture colliders so the player can no longer walk over certain items
Removed direction checks on map transfers to make transitions easier
Reduced the volume of buy and sell sound effects
Fixed shop window bugs that could cause freezes
Ensured map transfers correctly sync NPCs to their assigned positions
Corrected typos in NPC dialogue
Removed duplicate items

The upcoming demo reflects these fixes and additional polish informed by the playtest. The demo will be publicly available on Steam starting Friday.
