Rumours say there's a way to unlock the doors in the Grand. Wonder if you could find any ghosts...

Some of you may be wondering - what is the game actually about?

You are Chris David, an American who has inherited an old English hotel, The Grand Hotel, from his father. By day, your job is to renovate the hotel and help out around the seaside town of Kingswood-on-sea. By night, you investigate the secretive history of the town and its residents, and wield your talking power tools against the supernatural. They tell you There Are No Ghosts at The Grand - don't believe them.

There Are No Ghosts at the Grand is many things – including a musical. Each mysterious character you meet or choose to help has their own story and song waiting to be uncovered. From spooky ska to wartime jazz to skater punk, each song is uniquely theirs… and sometimes surprisingly so. Duet with them to reveal their deeper truths.

During Gamescom in August, I was lucky enough to play the demo of There Are No Ghosts at the Grand. I was given the build on Steam to play through again, and first-time developer Friday Sundae has something special here. You are an American who has been left an old hotel, The Grand, in England. It’s part house flipper, Spray Paint simulator, PowerWash Simulator, and mystery game, and I love what I have played so far.

When I saw the Xbox Games Showcase reveal trailer back in early June, I knew I had to keep an eye out for There Are No Ghosts at the Grand. A grandpa singing and dancing through a Grand Hotel, a player gunning old paper off the walls, a quaint village ready for a makeover, a creepy crawler scurrying away, a talking cat — if that doesn’t intrigue you, I don’t know what will.
