what changes?

So I know I could destroy them with the heavy artillery you can capture from the Russians but I don't really like using artillery since on some missions you can win by simply endlessly bombarding the enemy, and never actually engaging them. Any nice ways to destroy them? My tanks don't have enough penetration, my transports with AT guns can only penetrate them from the back, my infantry doesn't have enough grenades :( Or should I just get over myself and use arty?...
