The Battle of Jhansi (March 1858). It was fought between the British East India Company forces and the defenders of Jhansi, led by Rani Lakshmibai. Renowned for her bravery, Rani Lakshmibai fiercely defended the fort of Jhansi against the British but was ultimately forced to retreat.
