Before playing the game, I looked the game up on PCGamingWiki and found a fan fix called AkibaInterceptor that fixes many issues from blurry resolution, preventing system sleeping while playing with a controller, mouse cursor visible while playing, to increasing the framerate to 60, and more. Additionally, the modded Steam controller configuration solves menu navigation being too fast on framerates above 30fps.

Akiba’s Trip: Undead & Undressed is a quirky RPG that embraces its absurd premise and otaku culture. Its faithful recreation of Akihabara and standout soundtrack by Toshiko Tasaki shine, while the clunky combat system and dated visuals hold it back.

Despite its flaws, the humor, unique mechanics, and charm make it a fun, niche adventure for those who appreciate its playful tone and cultural focus.

It's... Different. I mean it's your stereotypical anime-esque rpg don't get me wrong but instead of a standard turn based design and 4 man party they used a weird (and fairly clunky) arcade beat em up style combat system with at most one team member where clothing is the health bar and you win fights by literally stripping the opposition.

a very strange game but also oddly charming if it hooks you, you're a loot goblin obsessed with figurines that gets turned into, and roped into fighting, pseudo vampires. which i'm guessing was the excuse to make a beat em up where you strip down enemies to their tighty whiteys (sunlight and all that). the dialogue is fairly light hearted and joking, the characters aren't particularly deep but they don't need to be either, all in all the game has a pretty niche target audience and is a fun little one off that you can sink some hours into for a decent price especially on sale.

If you're expecting a deep game of the year contending masterpiece or anything even close to it you'd be disappointed but if you happen to be an anime/japan nerd, aren't bothered by fan service (because it's like most of the game), and just want a game that does its own thing to kill time with/ see a bit of akiba from that time period it's not a bad choice by any means. I at least have a soft spot for it given I got platinum at some point on the playstation way back when.
