i would’ve wanted to give this a good review because it’s one of those games i’ve been unhealthily attached to for the longest time since i was 5 but man the crashing sucks

somehow more stable than it used to be when i was a kid and i have 50 times more mods than i did back then! they did it!

Love the sims, love the series, this is my favorite of that series.

But due to many reasons i cannot recommend this to anyone.

I can't change resolution, i can't change refresh rate, im having various optical bugs happen (Neighbouring houses have green items and i can see right through their house with various visual glitches happening)

This is a buggy mess of a game.

The Sims 2 was my first ever Sims game growing up—I was absolutely obsessed with it as a kid, and my mom even got me all the expansion packs. So when the Legacy Collection dropped, I grabbed it mostly for the nostalgia.

Yes, modders had already figured out how to make the game work on modern PCs, but it’s nice to have an official version. It had a rocky launch, but thankfully it runs pretty smoothly now. I ended up playing around 30 hours, reliving those cozy, chaotic sim moments.

I raised a Sim from baby to teen, sent her off to college… and then she lit herself on fire using the fireplace. Classic Sims energy lmao. I don’t plan to play much more, but it was such a fun trip down memory lane. If you loved it back in the day, it’s definitely worth a revisit.

I avoided buying this until now because of all of the reviews saying it crashes and has issues. When I played it today, it took a second to launch but other than that, I played for 2hrs with no issues. Nostalgia at its best. Love this game. Best Sims game imo. Now the Sims 3 just needs this sort of all in 1 release. Maybe one day. 😅

Played this game for over 50 hours with no crashes, after installing tons of mods. Game runs a lot better than The Sims 2 Ultimate Edition that I got for free on Origin years ago.

Runs fine on Linux Mint :)
