Super Meat Boy 3D Demo Updated!

Meaty greetings again, friends!

We've some good news for your for the new year: the demo of your three-dimensional favorite chunk of meat just got updated!

The update contains a bunch of improvements and optimizations and is also based on the feedback you shared with us over the last couple of weeks. Therefore, once again, a big THANK YOU!

But now, without further ado, we produly present the changelog for the demo:

Camera speed changed
Various level tweaks
Improved visibility through objects
Improved animations
Improved position helper placement
Position helper line option added

In case you have additional feedback for us, please share it! We are really eager to her yout thoughts on Meat Boy's very first adventure in the third dimension. We hear you in the comments, in the Steam Community Hub and on the Super Meat Boy Discord channel[discord.com]!

Still feeling jealous of the influencers and journalists and - most of all - alllll of the people that got to play Super Meat Boy 3D already at gamescom?
Understandably so, the demo is pretty damn awesome.

Yeah, we’re biased ... but you can trust us. And if you don’t? Well, you can go f– ... inally play the new, shiny, extended demo version yourself, right here on Steam!

Test your skill in ten levels from the first two worlds: the (almost) idyllic, squirrel-infested Forest and the trash-filled dangers of the Wastes. It’s time to prepare yourself for the staple bittersweet, frustratingly satisfying feeling of failure and (eventual) success, or to practise the first few levels well enough to get a leg up in the very first speedruns:

We're working hard to bring Super Meat Boy 3D to life, and you know what? We would love to have your support to help us brainstorm the madness. Who would YOU love to see in the game? A classic favorite? A guest character? Hit us with your best ideas!

In the first Meat Boy we've added some characters from other beloved games - and it was a lot of fun! So when we do it again this time around, we want to hear directly from YOU, the fans. No promises - suggestions aren’t guaranteed to make it in - but we're listening:

The game's difficulty is now in its angles

The 3D made the game worse. It felt like the entire difficulty was now rooted in the odd angles of the walls and camera. During my playthrough, I mostly died when a wall was angled toward the player, making it difficult to press the key combinations to run along it and then jump off it in a completely different direction. It might be better with a gamepad, but on a keyboard/mouse it was terrible....

Movement feels horrible

The main thing the original Super Meat Boy did above most platformers was tight, responsive, fun, movement. This game feels like a piece of ♥♥♥♥ quite honestly. It's hard to put my finger on exactly why, but it just doesn't feel good to control Meat Boy. He feels unresponsive, clunky, and doens't have enough micro adjustment. It just doesn't feel good to play. Other than that, the visual style looks absolutely soulless compared to the originals colour plalette/style. The music is good, but is it as good...
