Season 2 Is Here Now

Hey everyone,

Thanks for joining me for Season 1 of ROGUE LIGHT DECK BUILDER. It's over now and we are all going to enter Season 2 together. Here's what's different:

Partial leaderboard wipe. I've patched some unintended exploits that were being used to post very good leaderboard times. In light of this, I'm wiping all leaderboard scores faster than the https://www.speedrun.com/ROGUE_LIGHT_DECK_BUILDER?h=freedom&x=xk9mzxgd. If you have a legitimate time faster than this, and I delete it, I'm sorry. This seemed like the best solution to me. If this happens to you, please email me footage verifying the legitimacy of your score at goblinamericagame@gmail.com and I'll put an official apology to you in the game.
A new nail type.
New husband dialogue.
Assorted bugfixes.

DirectX 12 is not supported on your system. Try running without the -dx12 or -d3d12 command line argument.

DirectX Diagnostic Tool says it is supported? Anyway to fix this? (Direct3D DDI: 12, Featured Levels: 11_0,10_1,10_0,9_3,9_2,9_1)

Controls feel worse after new season

My precious nailing hands seem to get stuck when selecting a new point for nailing way more often now. This makes it very difficult to choose a new spot, and the only fix I've found is shaking the mouse violently until it unsticks itself, or moving down the board if i'm lucky. Before, this would happen once in a blue moon, but it now happens several times per board. My hammer also gets stuck underneath the board very consistently as well. It's a coin toss if my hammer will start wedged underneath the boa...

Yeeeeah I think I fixed everything

Yeah, the game had some problems but I've fixed them all now. Here are some of the fixes:

Fixed bug where nails would become mysteriously unplaceable.
Fixed bug allowing you to place nails before a board had dropped, preventing the game from working correctly.
Tweaked values of the ominous nail for reasons I couldn't begin to describe.
Normalized hammer behavior across framerates a bit. I still recommend that you don't play the game at capped 30 FPS , because it makes the game much harder.
Added some text asking you to please not play the game at capped 30 FPS.
Fixed bug that would occasionally cause deck-build time to be added to total run time twice.

There are probably some other changes. Well, I hope you're all having fun. If you find problems please let me know.

I'm pretty sure I fixed everything

Hey. New patch. Here's what's changed:

Checking for the Deck Builder (platinum) achievement should be working correctly for everyone now. If you have every other achievement unlocked, boot the game and hit "play" in the main menu. The Deck Builder achievement should populate once the game loads.
Have added a short "bonk grace period" when you begin hitting a nail. This should help prevent accidental bonks.
Nerfed the ominous nail. It was too crazy.

Achievements kinda fixed?

I had a small patch downloaded (20mb or smth), after that i finally got the 20x streak achievemnt, full suite didn't work, so wiped the save, did everything again, got the full suite, but didn't get trusty tool, any idea what do to, maybe i need to only upgrade a single tool without upgrading other?...

Eventually the game just, won't let me put the nail down into the board? it's not always the same board not sure what's causing it

Bugged Achievements

I'm pretty sure a bunch of the achievements aren't working correctly. In particular, the ones related to upgrades, nail streaks, and the one for hitting your hand don't seem to be activating. The nail streak achievements all got stuck at 2 in the achievement progress bar, but I got up to an 11x on my playthrough. The achievement for a 2x streak did unlock correctly. I know the game has only been out for like an hour, but I'm assuming others are having the same issue since those achievements are at 0%...

Didn’t expect to enjoy this as much as I did. At first, the gameplay felt clunky and a bit frustrating—missed hits, weird physics, and slow progression. But once I started unlocking upgrades and getting the rhythm down, it really clicked. There’s something super satisfying about landing perfect strikes and watching your deck come together. It’s got that “one more run” vibe, even if the controls still feel a bit off sometimes. Definitely rough around the edges, but it’s a fun, weirdly compelling twist on deckbuilders.

It is so satisfying to master the mechanics of this game. Solid game overall that keeps you coming back for better and better times. Still grinding for the last achievement but I will do it eventually ! 7.5/10

Rouge Light Deck Builder Guide

Grab a board, hammer the nails, (strike high and fast for a perfect, don't go too crazy just trust yourself.) build a deck, go to the shop. Rinse and repeat and the rest of the game will reward you.
