We have been working on a number of fixes this week based on your feedback, below is a patch list for this update which will go live today:

  player 2 can now play using controller 2 in local 2 player games (There will be further improments to this in the next update)

*If your posted issue isn't on this list I will post a current priorities list shortly for this week, so please do report it in that thread if you feel it has been missed and needs urgent attention.

We have been notified of the ability to ONLY practice in the FREE version, this should not be the case, however to those of you who downloaded Pool Nation FX on or after the 14th December this is all you would have access to - THIS IS A BUG AND IS NOW FIXED.

We apologise greatly for the confusion here, and can confirm this is now fixed. However if you ever experience such situation again please do get in touch.

To help improve the online experience we have made a number of updates in this patch including the ability for F2P gamers to join all available matches in the pool hall* - this should provide much more variety and a better experience all-round. *For a limited time only

• LITE players can now JOIN any online game type of Full Game user
  *Available on a trial basis for a limited time only
  *The create match ability stays as was for lite users, you cannot create a match using locked content, this should provide 'full gamer' users more match opportunities and a better online experience all round
  
• Fixed issue with cue distance being set for host instead of client
  
• New 'Screen percentage' graphics option that reduces in game resolution while keeping UI resolution the same.
  
• Fixed issue with shots being skipped when you select 'Resume' on pause menu
  
• Improved visibility of tour challenges
  
• Fixed issue with 'not in the correct league' message box showing incorrect info
  
• Fixed issue with cash not being awarded correctly when levelling up
  
• New camera option to view AI shots in free cam mode
  
• Fix issue with clients losing cash after restarting the game from online matches
  
• Play for Cash matches now play in the user's currently set location, not the Pool Hall every time
  
• New pop up screens to help in navigation the menus and online
  
• A key in the online menu for ease of use
  
• New default US 8Ball rule to match official WPA rules (can pot opponents ball if you have hit a legal ball first)

We wanted to start this New Year with something new, alongside all the other cool new features we are working on, we have today added Trading cards to Pool Nation FX!

There are cool Badges, Trading Cards, Backgrounds and Emoticons to collect

NB. These have been published at our end, they may not be automatically implemented by Valve, if they do not activate straight away, don't panic :)

Today we are celebrating the start of 12 days of a Cherry Pop Christmas , where each day we will unlock for 24 hours a new game mode to play online for our F2P friends, this means that you get a glimpse of what else is in the game for you to unlock and also the chance to earn more coins and (XP) experience points, which in turn earns you more coins! Yey!

This is also a Merry Christmas to our loyal fans who want a variety of game types played in the pool hall, so guys play these modes, practice your skills, experiment with various aiming aids, try turning the aiming off and enjoy playing Pool Nation FX this festive season!

So, pool playing gamers, head forth to Pool Nation FX each day and unlock your free mode and play all day until a new mode is unlocked!

Yesterday saw the launch of Pool Nation FX out of Early access in a new format to help build the online community.



The ability to play online, but only 8 ball Pool, Play for Cash games with the lowest prize fund. And create match games.
You can practice 8ball, 9ball or Snooker offline. NOT against the AI. This is a practice mode to hone your skills
You cannot play online friendlies, leagues etc, or any of the other rules sets (9ball, snooker, etc)
You are locked to a single aiming aid level (Standard AKA Pro aiming aid). But the rest of the Aiming Aids (lines) are unlockable by coins you can earn in game

ALL 11 Game types offline, including Speed, Killer & Snooker
All Aiming Aids unlocked
The full offline career - in 8 Ball, Snooker and 9 Ball
Endurance Mode, a fast paced race against the clock mode
The full customisable trickshot editor
Local multiplayer mode: Versus.
Fully customisable Rules

ALL 11 Game types online, including Speed, Killer & Snooker
All Aiming Aids unlocked
Full Play For Cash Career where you start at $25 prize fund and work up to $100,000
Leagues Online - in 8 Ball, Snooker and 9 Ball
Friendlies Online - where you can create a private lobby to play with friends
Fully customisable Rules

I know this is a BIG step and there is lots more to do in game as DOUBLES are being introduced soon :)
But we wanted to come out of early Access as really, the game is beyond that point, and we want to help build the online community for you... But it doesn't change anything there is still lots more to come! :)

For the past few months we have been working alongside the Steam community to make this game great, to polish those balls to perfection.

You helped us by reporting those bugs.. we promised we'd try to build the online community, and today we can annouce a F2P version that will work seemlessly alongside the full version.

The Free- to- Play version will include limitless online 8 Ball Pool, an offline practice mode, a Daily Bonus Match, Daily Trickshot Challenge and full access to the customisable features including collectable cues, balls, decals and locations.

We can confirm that the F2P version will benefit from all future updates working seamlessly alongside the full version, keeping players in sync with everyone else when playing online.

Making the decision to steer away from the 'buy coins' consumable route and instead offer two optional DLC packs, Online priced at $3.99 and Offline priced at $8.99, both aimed to enhance gameplay but are not necessary to play the game.

I hope you agree this is a big step in the right direction and we cannot wait to unveil what is up our sleeve next... did someone say doubles???? ;)

I must add as a note we have updated 2 variety of Snooker table pockets for you to test out;
- Manchester, Pool Hall & VIP have a championship table pockets center and corner (these are slightly more forgiving pockets than previously)

On this Bonfire Night we will release the 2nd installment of the Pool Hall - spectating matches live online!

-This update will bring the ability to have up to 10 people in a lobby spectating your game
-Group Chat, you will be able to chat to the other spectators, add friends and mute them if you so wish
