The game is running slow

My system is well above the requirements so that should be pretty smooth. It's very laggy when zooming out, so no way to get a decent view on what's going on. Any tips on how to optimize it? I don't really see any options that could optimize speed. On another note, some tips on which campaign is easy, and preferably short would be most welcome. I have all DLC besides Hannibal....
