ok game, is improving all the time

Ahoy! Naval Action sails ahead of similar titles with its intricate ship mechanics, although it occasionally capsizes in monotonous gameplay.

This is a game that felt like it had captured lightning in a bottle, but has suffered from a developer that's just pushed it further and further toward being a no-lifer unfun timesink of an MMO.

Critique of that course saw said developer chimp out, chastise his own community and outright just ban people for constructive criticism.

I don't much care how the game is now, there's no point playing a title they killed long ago. Just look at the Steam Charts.

new player experience is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. devs permaban people from forums for not being super nice. devs brutalized the player beloved gameplay mechanics because they didn't like how it differed from their vision of the game. very french devs

i tried....i really tried...

you know i understood from the beginning that there's a steep learning curve.
i knew that the grind is brutal.
i knew this wouldn't be an arcade experience.

so i tried.

5 hours in, i uninstalled. in those 5 hours i achieved literally nothing. the game explains nothing.
4th tutorial mission is broken. apparently you can't replay tutorials, which would have been nice to train gunning.
outside that i managed to sink 2 ships. both battles took 20min each, because i sucked at aiming and sailing.
replaying tutorials would have been handy.

then i lost a boarding attempt. whatever i had after 5 hours was gone, all but the 43 XP i earned in this time.
really sad, fumbled potential.

Fun, challenging. Steep learning curve.

if you got time and are a hardcore player you might enjoy it if not it may not be for you.
