this is coming from a long time player coming from the seperate pc launcher

So, without beating around the bush. This is a gacha game. What makes reverse 1999 worth playing if you don't like gachas?

You should try this game if:
- (this is important) you are willing to play a story based game. Your enjoyment will be significantly reduced if you decide to keep skipping story chapters.
- you are a fan of any of the character designs - i recommend looking at a wiki (preferably prydwen) and seeing if the style of the characters appeals to you.
- You are interested in a game representing different eras and time periods
- Like hearing an english dub that makes the characters speak their own language instead of all the characters just having an american accent
- you love oranges

(long bit about the overall gacha systems in this game; can be skipped into the next paragraph)
- you dont want to play gacha games just because of powercreep and predatory monetary practices. R1999 does make their characters stronger over time, but the difficulty of most endgame content is still balanced around making earlier 6 or 5 stars be able to consistently clear the hardest modes the game has to offer, newer characters mostly provide ease of use and comfort. Its hard to say how generous a gacha game is without trying it yourself but i would say R1999 is above expectations when it comes to gacha currency and overall generosity. Most of the time it handles FOMO well by making most of the banner characters come to the standard banner after 3 patches. However true limited characters have started to pop up recently. (Global version players are a few months behind compared to CN version; you can always tell when exactly a limited character is gonna be released; happening around half a year or so)

Main possible cons this game includes:
- a lot of progression systems, the devs opted out for this instead of rng gear (eg. genshin's artifacts), which may make leveling up your characters daunting at first.
- the gameplay is definetly not for everyone
- due to needing to hire voice actors from different parts of the world audio quality may sometimes be notiiceably worse than other times
- classic live service story issues of the first bit of the game being worse writing quality wise compared to later chapters. I do think reverse managed the beginning somewhat well though.

I am extremely passionate about this game annd i do encourage anyone reading this to try it. If you do decide to stay with reverse, it may surprise you with its vibrant characters, beautiful artstyle, great music, and most important of all: a great story. But if you decide to drop the game somewhat early you dont lose too much. Also dont play the game if you have any problems with gambling.

Finally instead of opening the game from the Pc client i can simply open it from steam so all my friends can see im playing reverse:1999

There's a cross-progression if you played this game on mobile! You just need to bind your account.

I am a big gacha hater but this one is a rare one for me lol This is one of the very few gacha game that I actually enjoy. The combat and mechanic is fun and unique, and the art style and character designs are really beautiful! Plus I am a huge fan of the time travel theme. Check this one out you won't regret it

Best time to start is now

If you're new there is currently a banner with a character named "Tooth Fairy" (top healer) and it also has two amazing 5 star characters, Yenisei (also a top healer) and Bkorn (amazing sub-dps/debuffer for Lucy and others). Skip the actual newbie banner for now (it'll stay there forever) and pull on tooth fairy. Also, speaking of Lucy, she is absolutely amazing and wil carry your account on all content as the main damage dealer, try to get 1 copy of her on her banner (and then stop there) And that's all...

Black screen on launch?

After the video of the rain it just goes black. I can hear the big into thing but then she says "what's going on, what happened?" and from there i can click to skip dialog but after i while it just doesn't let me do anything and the screen stays black. Not sure what to do. I'm going to try progressing by watching a playthrough and using it to figure out where to click which will hopefully let me get passed but this just sucks....

Hello I started today the game never played before the voice in the tutorial were fine but after sometime the voice sounded like they were muffled like the sound was reduced but the other sounds in the game was normal. Is it normal can I change it back to normal ? Thanks...
