Although quite a few elements of the gameplay in Cosmic Cosmonaut are not related to combat, there will be a time where you will be required to defend your fleet in fierce cosmic battles.

As fleet commander, you command a fleet of up to 9 ships, carefully choosing your composition to maximize your strength. Your opponents will also have a fleet of up to 9 ships, ready to challenge you at every turn. These battles are in real time - making sure that there's always action on the screen at any time.


You can take control of your ships' attacks, either by letting them automatically target enemies or by manually focusing fire on specific vessels.


You can also use powerful special abilities that can turn the tide of battle, for which you can purchase ammunition to replenish these abilities and maintain a tactical advantage. As you progress through the game and complete challenges, you'll unlock new and exciting ones.


In the demo, you'll have access to one special ability. The nuclear missile. This devastating first ability deal massive damage to a single target, with a satisfying kaboom.
