Scaredy Cat Development Pause: Release Date on Hold

Hey everyone,

It’s not the update I hoped to share, but due to personal circumstances, all development on Scaredy Cat is currently on hold. The previously mentioned release window of June 2025 is no longer accurate, and a new date hasn’t been set.

This decision wasn't made lightly, but it’s necessary. Creating this game with care, quality and authenticity takes stability and time - and right now, that means stepping away for a bit. Scaredy Cat is deeply personal, and I hope to return to it when it can get the focus it deserves.

To everyone who playtested the demo, left feedback or helped shape the game in any way: thank you. Your thoughts, encouragement and belief in Scaredy Cat have truly kept it going through the hardest moments. It means so much that this weird, heartfelt, dark little game has found its people.

Updates will be posted when development resumes. Henny will have to stay lonely for just a little bit longer.

Scaredy Cat Release Update: New Launch Target Set for Valentine's Day 2025

Release Update

I’d like to let everyone know that the release date for Scaredy Cat has been slightly extended to early 2025. We’re now aiming for a Valentine’s Day launch and will keep you updated on our progress. (This will align nicely with the in-game timeline, too! 💝)

While I know many of you were excited for a December release, our goal is to deliver the experience we imagined. The extra time will also allow us to integrate feedback from the demo and Next Fest, ensuring the game meets our highest standards.

To everyone who has wishlisted Scaredy Cat, followed our development, or tried the demo: your support has been invaluable and truly motivating. We can’t wait for you to experience the full journey of Henny and Conhaven.

My intention with the demo is to offer a curated experience that includes the beginning of the full game. It showcases what I valued most during development: a deep mystery that rewards curious story-seekers, and a dark yet comforting atmosphere created through careful use of light, shadow, and audio.

Your support and excitement pushed me to finish the demo, and I'm eager to hear your feedback as I work towards the full release.
