Cute style, but no substance or personality. The game is basically just Fetch Quest: the Game.
Despite the fact that the entire point of the game is to bring lost villagers back to the village and that you're expected to eventually get lost and need rescue yourself, you can only drop villagers off at the village to complete a fetch quest that requires villagers as part of its required item list, and only if you have all the required items to complete the quest. If you have one villager and the fetch quest requires two, guess what buddy you're coming back out into the miasma for no reason until we can find another one. No you can't just stand around the candle in the village until you're needed. This is especially cool because you have a very limited supply of very limited use items used for gathering material and creating paths, and when you run out the only way to get more is apparently to intentionally "get lost" and restart.
Beyond that the game is just completely lacking in personality. Past the tutorial, townsfolk have no dialogue at all unless it's a prompt for a fetch quest. You can find some creatures out in the world, but they're also just fetch quest kiosks with no dialogue, and the quest they offer is the same for every one. Every troll wants 8 wood and every chicken wants 1 gem.
After playing for only half an hour I felt like I'd pretty much seen all there was to see and I was incredibly disappointed. I really like the artstyle, I just wish there was a good game attached to it.

Played this game throughout the Early Access process and I've thoroughly enjoyed it! If you enjoy exploration, resource management, drug crystal dealers and long-necked chickens, this one might just be up your alley.

Wonderful little take on the roguelike-without-combat formula. Definitely worth a few bucks for a very unique & memorable experience delving into the miasma again and again.
