Hi,

It's been a busy time at our studio - we've managed to ship a ton of improvements to our demo just in time for Gamescom! We've got new story artwork, puzzles, music and more!

Patch notes for Pup Champs v0.3:

Added first three story comics to Chapter 1,
>>> We've teased this in the July updated and it's finally here! These comics represent how we'd like to tell the story in Pup Champs' campaign and we hope you'll enjoy the pups' journey :)
Added language support for: Chinese Simplified, Chinese Traditional, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese-Brazil, and Spanish,
>>> As always, don't expect a ton of text in an Afterburn game, but it should help you navigate the options menu!
Added save game support keeping track of which levels were completed,
>>> This should help alleviate the "after returning to the main menu I don't know which level I was last playing" problem that plagued the previous versions of the demo.
Added a new music track to chapters 1 and 3,
Added shadow to the cone obstacle sprite,
Added a "Pup Champs" version watermark in the bottom right corner,
Added a wishlist button to the game,
Added a "clear save" menu,
Updated puzzles in all three chapters of the demo,
>>> We've reworked, removed and added new levels to make the overall progression smoother and help new players figure out the ins and outs of our mechanics - we're super eager to hear how you're enjoying these new puzzles!
Updated player stats across all puzzles,
>>> We've received feedback that changing unit kick strength between puzzles sometimes felt confusing to players, which is why we've decided to redesign it to make it consistent. Now you can always expect a certain pup to kick in a specific way - but their stamina will still vary from level to level to spice things up.
Improved unit outlines and kick markers,
Improved camera layout on all levels,
Improved keyboard and gamepad input,
Fixed issue with keyboard/gamepad navigation marker appearing in main menu when using mouse,

Demo v0.2.1 patch notes

Hello!

We're coming back to you with a minor update—not as flashy as the backgrounds update introduced in the previous patch, but we're cooking!

Patch Notes for Pup Champs v0.2.1 Demo:

Improved keyboard and gamepad input,
Fixed a typo (whoopsie!) in the Wishlist button,
Reworked all levels to feature consistent kick strength between pups (so if you're hungry for some new puzzles, give it a try!),
Added a "Pup Champs Alpha" watermark in the bottom right corner of the in-game screen.

Demo v0.2 out now! - featuring updated input & art

Hi everyone!

In our last newsletter we talked about the work we've been doing over the past few months to improve Pup Champs' quality. However, it's one thing to read about the improvements we've been doing - and another to try it out for yourself. This is why we've prepared an updated demo that's available now so that you can see how the game has progressed :)

Since last week, Steam has enabled the option of reviewing demos, so if you've tried out the new Pup Champs demo be sure to send us feedback using a review, the Community Hub or our Discord[discord.gg] - we're reading everything as we strive to make the game the best it can be.

Patch notes for Pup Champs v0.2 demo:

(points marked with a star - * - are a work-in-progress and you should expect more improvements there in the future)

*added gamepad and keyboard support to the game
added a transition animation when going between main menu and gameplay scenes,
added VFX to pup and ball movement,
improved animations for ball movement,
*updated backgrounds on all levels,
*updated artwork for markers that show where the ball will land,
updated game icon,
updated artwork for dashed line that shows current movement path,
updated shadow animations,
reworked most levels to feature consistent kick strength between pups (we hope this allows you to have an easier time remembering which pup works best in different scenarios),
fixed the main menu to better support different aspect ratios,
added a new button to the main menu - "leave a review"
