Escape From Zombietown is your usual zombiefest where your job is to move from point A to point B and while doing so you eliminate hundreds of undead creatures. Considering this one would think this game does not offer anything new. It may be so but there is something that makes this game very addictive - gameplay is just so fluid and weapons are easy-to-use.

The story is your typical zombie apocalypse in which you find yourself alone, however, somebody calling you on your mobile is willing to help you find escape. We have 4 chapters each with 5 levels to complete. Since gameplay mostly consists of running and gunning it is very much reminiscent of those old school FPS games we used to play. No ironsight, no zooming but say yes to headshots.

Later levels introduce more weapons (my favourite being the tommy gun due to its damage and precision) as well as supplies such as pills that can give you a health, speed or damage boost for a temporary period of time. Entering a bigger square should be a hint that something needs to be interacted with. An elevator or a C4 and while the countdown is going on there will be waves of zombies for us to dispose of. In chapter 3 you can collect fuel cans to activate generators, however, these new gameplay mechanics do not change the core gameplay, at all.

At the end of each level we get a screen with statistics. This wouldn't be an old school FPS without secrets - look in every corner, behind every counter as you might find a golden crowbar. While I said old school the game only allows us to collect 2 weapons. What about the enemies? Some run fast, others are quite slow and explode and there are funny ones in chicken custome throwing huge (exploding) eggs at you.

It's a fun, fast-paced and free zombie shooter. Recommended!

This game is really good for someone's first project. Expand it into a survival game or level to level mission game with multiplayer. I could see it becoming into a big hit due to the very toon art-style!
