v0.7.4 - Early Access Release

Hello everyone,

Arrogue is finally releasing in Early access after 1 year of developement!

It has been a crazy year for me, I've put all my energy working on this game and I'm so happy for the support you guys gave me in return. I want to thanks all the playtesters, the people from the community and all the players.

Arrogue is still a little rough in the edges but I'm very happy with the result so far!
During early access I want to balance the game, improve the difficulty curve and of course add more content. I will soon announce the early access roadmap.

I hope you'll enjoy playing the full version as much as I'm enjoying working on this game.

Here's the changelog:
[Add]
- Add 26 relics (scissors, refined_quartz, refined_emerald, refined_diamond, grapes, potato_seed, piercing_bow, strength_bow, health_bow, shield_bow, pepper, wheat_seed, wheat, pepper_seed, egg, fried_egg, sad_egg, target_ring, target_amulet, poison_axe, poison_sword, poison_scepter, poison_hammer, mighty_hammer, rose, black_whip)
- Add 10 Arrows (poison_paint_brush, egg_arrow, fried_egg_arrow, target_arrow, big_target_arrow, sad_target_arrow, sad_egg_arrow, two_colored_arrow, wise_arrow, dart_arrow)
- Add 4 status (Mirror, Target, Berserk, Egghead)
- Add 5 NPCs (Glenn, Dave, Jim, Hank, Sabrina)
- Add part 2 in the dungeon with new levels and enemies
- Add cloud save and binary format for production environment
- Add 41 achievements
- Add health display in map
- Lock all characters (except Asher) in demo version
- ???

[Balancing]
- Bartholomew gives 2 bat arrow instead of 3
- Rework some levels to make them more fair

Amazing, super fun and replayable ! There's so many things i didnt discovered yet, and builds i wanna try, highly recommend

I've been playing the demo and playtest for a while. This is by far one of my favorite games to play on the side while multitasking. Its got a steady difficulty curve and different strategies for each character. There are tons of arrows to choose from, and many different types of enemies that can easily overwhelm you if you aren't paying attention. I cant count the amount of times ive gotten spanked because of a dumb mistake. There is a bit of RNG for the relics/arrows you can get but there are a bunch of ways to play that can offset any relics or arrows. Plenty of combos that will work when your initial thought might have been that you got a bad relic. Each Run is different so there is infinite replayability. Each run play time is reasonable and the game is great and playing for a bit, and come back later.

The Dev has been great in listening to folks in his Discord Channel. I clocked over 240 hours on the demo, and now another 60 hours on the playtest client. Along with a few other games, this is easily one of my top 5 casual games.

The later difficulties can be a bit merciless but don't fret. I can assure you that with the many ways to built your quiver, some strategies will be helpful early, but not good in the higher difficulties which prompts folks to try different combos. Just keep at it and you will find your own special builds to beat even the highest difficulties.

Weakness can be a strength.

v0.6.0 - NPC Update and QOL

This is the last update that was planned on the roadmap before early access! That means the game will be released in Early Access soon. The date will be announced in January. Stay tuned on discord!

[Improvements]
- Improve dialogue UI
- Improve all existing dialogues with more meaningful choices
- Improve map generation with more mystery events (Mystery's nodes now contains dialogues, chest, shop or elite enemies)
- Rework arrow upgrade system (you no longer need 3 arrows to upgrade, cost is 20 coins)
- Add cap to arrows display in the quiver
- Improve animations timing in fights in order to reduce wait times
- Make relics display a grid in order to see every relics
- Improve map visibility
- Improve status descriptions by adding how much they decrease at the start and end of turn
- Improve coins UI position

[Add]
- Add new dialogues
- Add possibility to skip walks between tower and other point of interest
- Add quests in dialogues to find items in fights
- Add grass background cover
- Add ability to enemies to give arrows to player while fighting

- Fix save system that was sometimes not loading save properly
- Fix bug where unobtainable arrows and relics where appearing in rewards/shop
- Fix enemy buff that was happening before attacks instead of after
- Fix typo in silver_crate description
- Fix gold piercing arrow that was giving piercing to enemies
- Fix Regenerate Status that was remove at the end of turn instead of the start of turn

[Balancing]
- Improve Bartholomew Combat (More bats but less powerful, Bartholomew now gives "Bat arrow" to the player)
- Nerf Slimes: poison debuff (5 -> 2)
- Tweak some levels appearance

Pirate Softlock

A pirate got hit by a swinging sail in the middle of their multi attack and died. Their turn does not end and I am now stuck waiting for the last pirate to attack indefinitely.

Wide and Ultra Wide support

Half the stuff is off the top of the screen, can not adjust screen size? must add support for other resolutions or its just not playable. Otherwise interesting game.

Demo Feedback

Love the concept of the game, have some comments and suggestions on it. 1. Watching the player walk back to town is tedious, even at 2X 2. Controller support seems broken, I can only use limited aiming controls, can't select arrows, can't fire 3. The map screen could be a little more on where you are and what path you can take, more visual indicators would be great. 4. Sometimes it feels like I'm just wailing away on a wall, waiting my turn, usually stacked up with shields and healing 5. Being told you ha...

I've Noticed...

Wall of text, most probably redundant observations; You can skip through all dialogue, and walking away from the tower, but walking back to the the tower is unskippable? You can encounter a chest when on an Enemy node. I haven't opened it, but I assume it's a mimic. If it is... isn't that too obvious? If you overfill your quiver, it's the bottom that goes off the screen. The very top slot, showing your selected arrow, disappears first though. Coins can appear on unbreakable platforms, but I don't think...
