...SURPRISE!

It was being considered for a while now, but it was decided that in order to spice up the class and give it a little more OOMPH, the Thief can now dual wield one-handed weapons!

Don't fret, however; shields can still be equipped as well in their second new "Hand" slot!

I'm sure some smaller adjustments were also made along the way, but this is the major one!

... I lied, apparently!


But there were several things I really wanted to address before starting to charge headlong into testing the postgame content.



Listed is a brief overview of the adjustments contained within this update:



-Fixed several tile passability issues.

-Players were able to unintentionally unlock the “Godly Accessory” Achievement.

-Many bosses and “important” or “tougher” enemies were made stronger or given increased survivability.

-A variety of equipment underwent various balance adjustments.

-To fit in with the overall design and general approach I’d been taking while creating much of the game’s equipment, the accessories that straight-up increased a character’s parameters like P.ATK, M.ATK, etc. were given minor detriments.

-Two pieces of equipment (Sage’s Glove and Power Gauntlet) were reworked more than others.

-The enhancements some weaponry granted to various elemental spell types were adjusted.

-The opening text crawl was changed slightly.

-Some spells and character-specific abilities were adjusted.

This is it, everyone! The FINAL UPDATE before the postgame content is released!

"What? Postgame content...? WHAT postgame content?"

As mentioned in previous updates, there's a relatively expansive postgame area currently in development that I am very much hoping to release by the end of the month!

Please note, however: You're required to defeat the final boss to access said content.

I'm sure some of you have already taken notice of a peculiar red orb that appears near the end of the game in the titular town? THAT is the entrance to the postgame, but it will obviously not be accessible until sometime in the (near) future.



For now, however, I've once again launched another update with (but not limited to) some of the changes and adjustments listed below:

-Fixed several spelling errors.
-Addressed several tile passability issues.
-Granted the MAGE Class an additional Dark-element spell, as well as the tier-3 Mighty-element spell.
-MONK’s base P.ATK was increased.
-The KNIGHT’s innate healing reduction was removed.
-Altered the damage formulas of various spells and abilities.
-Adjusted the stats of various pieces of equipment (both armour and weaponry).
-Slightly buffed the bosses in the final dungeon.
-The unique abilities linked to weapons were altered to be more useful.

-The screen flash that occurred upon encountering an enemy was removed.

-Similarly, the screen flash that had been included in some spell animations has also been removed.

-The way the game handles how equipment and passive abilities reduce the likelihood of being afflicted with status ailments has been significantly changed!

-The passive ability “Add: STUN” wasn’t bestowing the proper on-hit effect.

As promised, here's the changes mentioned in the last (smaller) update:


- Out-of-battle afflictions like Poison and Curse will now be displayed under the character’s name in the main menu.

- Length of HP/MP Bar was reduced; HP only goes to 9999 so a lot of it was unnecessary space.

- Players can now see FAR MORE of the boons, buffs, ailments, and debuffs affecting their party during battle.

- Music quality and volume has been adjusted.

- Fixed several spelling errors.

- Addressed several tile passability issues.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Hello, everyone!

I'm releasing a minor patch to address some graphical issues concerning several battle backgrounds that I seem to have mistakenly replaced with similar ones that weren't the correct size! Oops.

Also, there's been a plug-in installed that may help with people who might have had issues with their save files any time an update went live.


There should also be a more extensive patch coming in the next few days (or even as soon as tomorrow) that will fix other minor issues such as the amount of buffs/debuffs being shown in battle and being able to see ailments a character's afflicted with out of battle in the main menu (FINALLY)!

The post-game content is still in development and coming along nicely! Here's hoping I can get it out to all of you by the middle of January! FINGERS CROSSED!

In preparation for the upcoming post-game content that's currently in development, I've combed over the base game and ironed out several issues and bugs and annoyances that were giving me grief since becoming aware of them.

But that aside, I have to welcome all of my new players who graciously picked up the game during the Autumn Sale! Thanks for the support, everyone! I truly appreciate it from both new and old players alike. You people are AMAZING!

I've had quite an incredible community come together since releasing Scarmonde, with all kinds of wonderful discussions and support. You push me to make this game to be the best it can possibly be, and I thoroughly enjoy every step!

I hope you're all eagerly awaiting the post-game content I've got in store for you! Hopefully it'll help everyone really push their parties to their limits!

For now, however, here's a list of the major updates applied in today's patch:



-Mid/Late-game enemies have been slightly buffed.

-Fixed several tile passability issues.

-Addressed some minor bugs and spell mistakes

-The Mage class has been slightly altered and granted several new spells and passive abilities.

-The Thief class has been slightly altered and granted several new spells and passive abilities.

-The revival spells “Lifegiver,” “Rebirth,” and “Phoenix Rising” now grant a buff to the character that’s revived.

-The “Stat Guard” spell now negates status ailments entirely but comes with the bane of draining the MP of the character under its protection.

-Added a plug-in that assists with item/equipment organization in the main menu.

-Added new drops and stealable items from enemies in the final area/dungeon.

-Altered the potency of some abilities and spells.

Another small update for all of you!

There's a lot of small fixes in this one, addressing some spelling and terrain errors, as well as quite a bit of internal (database) stuff.

Enjoy!

-The accessories and equipment that reduced MP Cost by 50% were changed to reduce it by 25%.

-Fixed the Knight’s “Devastate” ability, as it was not working as intended.

-Buff and Debuff durations were extended to 5 turns.

-Players can now start their journey with a party of 1, 2, or 3 characters! You are no longer limited to a full party of four. However, there MUST be a character in Slot #1!

-Upon reaching the sub-class shrines roughly midway through the game, players can now assign ANY of the 12 sub-classes to their characters.

-Changed/fixed some item descriptions

-Adjusted the damage formulas for some spells.

-The “Added Strike” and “Extra Turn” passive abilities are now GENERAL PASSIVES. They can be learned by ANY class. This is due to the change listed above regarding a player’s choice of sub-classes. However, if you have ALREADY learned these abilities, your character will retain them. Once players discovered or read that these select and very powerful passive abilities were locked behind 2-3 classes, I felt they thought they almost HAD to take one of them and couldn’t properly branch out and experiment as I’d intended.

-Some classes (Warrior, Thief, Duskar, and Dancer) now have changed/added passive abilities.
