Had to launch an update today to address several relatively minor issues regarding collision detection in some areas of the postgame, as well as a somewhat concerning bug that would trigger when fighting confused enemies that also had the chance to counterattack with a unique ability.

Hope everyone's been enjoying the postgame! I'd also like to take this opportunity to thank all of the NEW players who've acquired Scarmonde during its recent (and current) sale! Thank you for the the love and support. I hope your trek through The Depths is an enjoyable and entertaining one!

How do you access the postgame?
You must defeat the final boss, but DO NOT enter the door beyond them. Head back to Scarmonde and inspect the red crystal/orb in town.

Scarmonde's postgame content will be releasing on February 10th, 2025!

To access this content, you'll have to DEFEAT THE FINAL BOSS, but before proceeding through the door beyond them, return to Scarmonde and examine the red orb at the northernmost area of the town.

The postgame contains roughly 5+ hours of content, and was made to slightly expand upon the story while also offering players a way to put their fully-upgraded characters to their ultimate test!

That didn't take long, did it?

We have to push out an EMERGENCY DUAL WIELD FIX because it was having several... undesirable side effects! Monks, Duskars, and Dancers could not equip helmets! Sadly there was no available workaround utilizing the plug-in we'd used, so an alternate method had to be employed!

Sorry for the trouble, folks!

But now the Theif should be the proper dual wielding machine we've always wanted him to be!

...SURPRISE!

It was being considered for a while now, but it was decided that in order to spice up the class and give it a little more OOMPH, the Thief can now dual wield one-handed weapons!

Don't fret, however; shields can still be equipped as well in their second new "Hand" slot!

I'm sure some smaller adjustments were also made along the way, but this is the major one!

... I lied, apparently!


But there were several things I really wanted to address before starting to charge headlong into testing the postgame content.



Listed is a brief overview of the adjustments contained within this update:



-Fixed several tile passability issues.

-Players were able to unintentionally unlock the “Godly Accessory” Achievement.

-Many bosses and “important” or “tougher” enemies were made stronger or given increased survivability.

-A variety of equipment underwent various balance adjustments.

-To fit in with the overall design and general approach I’d been taking while creating much of the game’s equipment, the accessories that straight-up increased a character’s parameters like P.ATK, M.ATK, etc. were given minor detriments.

-Two pieces of equipment (Sage’s Glove and Power Gauntlet) were reworked more than others.

-The enhancements some weaponry granted to various elemental spell types were adjusted.

-The opening text crawl was changed slightly.

-Some spells and character-specific abilities were adjusted.

This is it, everyone! The FINAL UPDATE before the postgame content is released!

"What? Postgame content...? WHAT postgame content?"

As mentioned in previous updates, there's a relatively expansive postgame area currently in development that I am very much hoping to release by the end of the month!

Please note, however: You're required to defeat the final boss to access said content.

I'm sure some of you have already taken notice of a peculiar red orb that appears near the end of the game in the titular town? THAT is the entrance to the postgame, but it will obviously not be accessible until sometime in the (near) future.



For now, however, I've once again launched another update with (but not limited to) some of the changes and adjustments listed below:

-Fixed several spelling errors.
-Addressed several tile passability issues.
-Granted the MAGE Class an additional Dark-element spell, as well as the tier-3 Mighty-element spell.
-MONK’s base P.ATK was increased.
-The KNIGHT’s innate healing reduction was removed.
-Altered the damage formulas of various spells and abilities.
-Adjusted the stats of various pieces of equipment (both armour and weaponry).
-Slightly buffed the bosses in the final dungeon.
-The unique abilities linked to weapons were altered to be more useful.

-The screen flash that occurred upon encountering an enemy was removed.

-Similarly, the screen flash that had been included in some spell animations has also been removed.

-The way the game handles how equipment and passive abilities reduce the likelihood of being afflicted with status ailments has been significantly changed!

-The passive ability “Add: STUN” wasn’t bestowing the proper on-hit effect.

As promised, here's the changes mentioned in the last (smaller) update:


- Out-of-battle afflictions like Poison and Curse will now be displayed under the character’s name in the main menu.

- Length of HP/MP Bar was reduced; HP only goes to 9999 so a lot of it was unnecessary space.

- Players can now see FAR MORE of the boons, buffs, ailments, and debuffs affecting their party during battle.

- Music quality and volume has been adjusted.

- Fixed several spelling errors.

- Addressed several tile passability issues.
