I really want to recommend this game, it has a really fun idea with tons of fun mechanics in it but there are several things that will instantly turn you off soon as you have to deal with them.

-Areas are marked in green or red to signify difficulty, though this does at least give you some warning it doesn't tell you at all how hard those ships will actually be.
-Enemies will spawn literally right on top of you and if they are higher level you WILL NOT make it out alive, and if you die good luck cause they will despawn and wait for you to come back and spawn again. It would be nice if these boats would patrol away to give you a chance to actually retrieve your stuff without just repeatedly dying as you slowly inch your stuff away.
-PVP though you wont drop your stuff be prepared for everything to be broken and start the grind all over again to farm to fix it.
-Even when you do build tanky there are weapons like the Gatling gunners the npcs get that will not only shoot longer then even your long range cannons but will shred everything on your boat in less then a second.
-Certain materials you need lots of later in the game like chemicals spawn few and far between. Even when you do find some you get 20 at a time when you need hundreds to actually build something. These are things you also have to compete with other players to get making it neigh impossible to actually retrieve during busy times.

The game certainly has alot of potential but the glaring issues it has that make you constantly spend what you do farm to repair are painful.

Not worth the $30 price, just letting you know now. At best this game is only worth $10. I think what sucks the most about this game is it was made by the wrong devs, could have been a cool Waterworld game, but its not very good. It feels pretty obvious that most of the game was developed by an AI of some sort, I really doubt a human being made a lot of the content in this game.

At first it doesn't seem so bad, movement is ok, the small boats are easy to figure out and set up. The tutorial is ok. The combat is basic.

The further you progress however, you will find it to be a very grindy game, at first you're gonna be struggling to keep enough food and water for your crew. This gets better as your crew levels as you will be able to choose water and food reduction skills, every crew member has them.

The AI for all of the enemies is set to 11. They rarely miss and are very aggressive, even in the low level areas. Enemies with Cannons are the most toxic, most of the time never missing a shot on you. While on the AI topic, they used really bad AI voice overs. It gets super cringe when the characters say anything with any kind of emotion.

The quests are really lame. At first I was trying to actually listen to what the characters were saying, but soon it all made no sense, especially with how your character responds to everything. I really think they used an AI to write the dialog for this game. 99% of the characters you meet have no personality, are dry ,super cliche and lame.

Starting at Tier 4 ships, you will find that physics no longer exists. You will see big ships get thrown around as if they dont weigh anything and some enemies only ram to capsize you, it happens a lot more to big ships.

Most of the player base doesn't speak English and there really isn't much about this game online. I found most of the information online to be wrong. Most maps seem oddly outdated considering the game is fairly new. Most of the time you will have to just pay attention to where things are and actually explore the map.

TLDR: The game is great if you can get it at a fair price. $30 is a scam for this game, $10 is fair in my opinion. It's very obvious this game is just a cash grab. I would wait for a sale, even half off would be acceptable for the amount of time you can get from this. This is basically just another game made by devs who don't actually play games.

The missions get bugged out and keep you from progressing. The resource grind is a little too much. When going to a resource node everyone on the server is fighting for it so your chance of getting it is slim. You need these specific resources to be able to progress in the story. You can't sustain enough metal to run metal ships so you are forced to use wood and plastic. The PVP is terrible because its just the most overpowered ships killing you in 1 shot using all cannons. When upgrading/boarding to a new ship the game bugged out and I lost my entire inventory. Everything. After almost 40 hrs in game, I now have to start from scratch with nothing because the game bugged out.
