All of your games are pretty much unplayable unless you set all the settings to lowest. Any map other than the smallest with anything larger than the smallest units simply lags around when you try to move the camera, even on high end hardware.

Should I get it? What’s the best game in the series? I love games like ARMA, and wouldn’t mind a milsim in RTS form.

For all you new guys that are trying Combat Mission for the first time, welcome. It's a great series and a helluva a lot of fun. To get the most out of the games, RTFM, ask questions, and watch some tutorial vids and other people play. The more you put into the game the more you will get out of it.
