Having now played through this game almost two times, I can definitely recommend against it. While it does have its moments, the overall product is so janky, inconsistent, and boring at times that you forget about those good moments very quickly. The graphics are fine, and the locations are interesting, but the story is so repetitive and there's very little purpose in actually collecting things or exploring. The differences between the three personas are mostly contrived and don't add much to the game imo. And to top it all off, there's an unfixed bug that prevents you from getting 100% on chests, and the only way to get that is to replay the entire game.

Nastiest AC ever made.

A delight to play on a deck, could use some initial optimization, controller recognition and skipping uplay login.

The combat is the only good thing about it

So to start off it’s an AC game, plays like most that I’ve played. Some janky climbing here and there, and the traditional combat system.

The Story
It’s ok, I wanted to like it more but it just feels all over the place (and the time jumping is very jarring, but maybe that’s most of the older AC games I don’t know)

Gameplay
Smooth generally acceptable
Side quests are simple but nothing bad either, the Persona thing could have definitely been better but it does add variety to how you do stuff (mostly the Assassin and Lady persona will be your go to)

Locations
There are 2 Main ones the city and swamp
The city is good, fun to traverse, and has plenty to drive
The swamp… oh boy, horrible to traverse because there is so much water/using canoes, and that’s horrible in a game about parkour. It’s also just kinda ugly, unfortunately you will be here quite a few times

There are 2 other smaller areas you will see and they are generally speaking pretty good as well

Graphics
It’s fine, I wouldn’t say it’s a deal breaker (and AC3R includes Liveration with the better lighting and maybe LODs)
The only thing I actually hated was the pop in was horribly bad, but that’s what you get from a vita game port

Overall I’d recommend playing it if it’s on sale (I got it for 5$). But if you have AC3R there isn’t really a need to bother with this
