The Talos Principle is well mixed bag, to say the least
For every good there is something bad, and vice versa

I will observe the game more, and I think the Puzzles are worth trying with that -85% discount tag
That being said, I would not buy this game for full price

The Talos Principle is a puzzle game where you take on the role of a sort of android who has been told by "God" to solve a bunch of puzzles.

There are a few mechanics in the game that are easy to learn but hard to master, maybe four or five all in all. As the game progresses you will find yourself getting better at the puzzles the more you do them and find yourself using and achieving creative solutions to your problems.

However the game is not without its frustrations, one mechanic in particular I felt was truly awful was recording your movements then having them play back in real time. Yes it adds an extra layer of depth to the game but it's extremely frustration because you need to remember what to do in what order as well as make your own moves in real time whilst the fake you does one part of the puzzle. If you can follow what I just said there then well done because it sums up what you need to do with this mechanic. I believe that's where I started to fall out of love with the game. Lasers, bombs, turrets, jammers, air vents, no problem at all. But I can't -stand- the action recording puzzles.

The story is definitely one to be experienced on your own, it's definitely philosophical and you'll learn all about that if you pay attention to the terminals, gives off a similar vibe to Detroit: Become Human, despite being two totally different games and genres, but the theme remains somewhat similar.

Overall, Talos Principle is a great game for puzzles enthusiasts, I wouldn't colour myself a puzzle enthusiast, as in, I enjoy puzzles in games but I don't want them to be ultra hard with a multitude of mechanics. For your average gamer, I'd say give it a go but if you love puzzles then this will be in your top three easily.

8/10 - Great story, innovative puzzles, nice vibe. Only deducting points due to recording puzzles.

great game! the puzzles are well-designed, but they alone are not what make the game great. it asks a lot of very philosophical questions that are very relevant in the current age of AI, but it makes them very approachable. expect to do a lot of reading to get the full experience, but there isn't too much to read at any one time and it's all very interesting to read. I highly recommend it to anyone who would like to spend some time thinking about interesting things.
