wtf is pigpen cipher and how does one translate the "text"?

Cannot get the second scene to unlock. Anyone have a clue how to unlock it?

Played through a couple times to try different paths and this is a game that really pulls me in. I love the story and all the possibilities in it. I've gotten ending 0 and ending 1 so just have to see what else I can do different. Oh and of all the girls, which are all very well done, Rayne is my favorite. :)...
