Particularly Regen I've never gotten to work

I feel like it should, but it doesn't seem like it does.

I had 6/6 Zombies, I gave the Demonologist five demon parts in the little menu thing, clicked trade once I filled it out, and lost those five demon parts; I've gained nothing though, still max 6 zombies.

It should, shouldn't it? It gives a free upgrade.
