MAX 'Play'

A long-time fan of DJMAX who has brought both Clear and Fail back from the game graveyard through reincarnation.
She is inherently kind-hearted and warm.
Despite her gentle nature, she has a very strict side... particularly about the quality of games.

Play's Companion 'Lena'
「Hey, there. I'm your idol Lena. Nice to meet you!」
A figure from another world who came over to DJMAX.
Previously a top star idol, she left her career due to unforeseen events and began working as a manager.
She continued her idol activities after coming over to the DJMAX series dimension.

DJMAX Limited Event Dungeon
DJMAX Collaboration Limited Event Dungeon will be opened.
Collaboration Limited Event Dungeon includes new story.
The new Mercenary and Companion can be obtained from it.
Also, the previous collaboration Mercenary 'El Clear' can be obtained from this dungeon as well.

■ New Silver Star Fusion.
New Fusion Silver Star Mercenaries will be added.

Characters from the Campaign will be obtainable through the new Fusion.
■ Mythic Rune Upgrade Materials Added
Previously, Mythic Runes could only use other Mythic Runes to be upgraded.
New items will be added that can be used to upgrade Mythic Runes.
Information about the way these new items will be supplied will be shared separately in the future.

■ World Arena / Novice Arena Participation Limit Changes
Participation Limit will be changed for World Arena and Novice Arena. The changes are as follows.

ZzzZz Ragares

1. Solo Raid Official Launch and 1 New Boss
Solo Raid's Beta period will end and it will officially launch.
Solo Raid Seasons will start every Thursday at 20:00 (UTC) and it will be available for a week each Season.
The first official Season will start at 20:00 on May 9th 2024 (UTC).

On the Official Launch of the Solo Raid Season,
'Bradako with something to say' will appear following the previous 'Crystal Queen Luminous'.
■ Solo Raid Changes
Skills can now be unequipped in the Training mode.
Maximum Damage limit for each individual Mercenary set to 1 billion.
Fixed an error with the BGM in the combat preparation screen and Skill activation sound now playing properly.
Guide / Score Tooltip Changes: The maximum damage that each Mercenary can deal with '1 billion'.

2. 1 New Exalted Mercenary Added

Demon of Fate 'Ragares'
「You want me to defeat Velfern? That shouldn't be too difficult, but... why?」
An ancient demon from the dawn of time. She existed long before the Octo, Liberators, and countless other demons emerged.
She was the demon who led the monsters which the humans, alongside gods, to Allan.
She was always questioning her own being and identity, which led to the conclusion that she should not exist.
She ended up sealing herself as a result... but after a long time had passed, the 'Pale Demons' resurrected her.
3. 1 New Companion Added

Hanya's Companion 'Lanya'
「Hanya, the top swordsman? That's a stretch.」
Hanya and Niya's bigger sister. The firstborn of Hanya and Niya's family. She used to guard a small village on the outskirts of Allan where her whole cat tribe resided.
She shifted her focus from physical to mental training. Eventually, she passed on her title as the tribe's best swordsman to Hanya.
She once again picked up her sword at Hanya's heartfelt plea after both Hanya and Niya left to join the West Wind Thieves.
She looks quite young for her age and she prides herself on that.
■ New Companion Chance-up Update

4. Mini Game: Run Yuridori (Renewal)
Run Yuridori design has gone through a renewal to change the Christmas background into something that fits the warmer weather a bit more.
Event Period: May 9th Update - Jun 13th Update 2024
[Mini Game Details]
Use the Jump and Slide button to help running Yuridori avoid obstacles.
Obtain as many items as possible to reach a high score.
(Jumping again while in the air can allow Yuridori to do a double jump).

Apple, Mushroom, Meat, and other items can be obtained for a score boost.
Running into obstacles will lower than time limit.
​
Obtaining the Star Decoration will temporarily turn Yuridori into an incinvicible giant.
Obtaining the Heart item will increase the time limit.

When the time limit is reached, the mini-game is over and the final score is recorded.

5. 1 new Costume
Flower Outing Wiriel

Wiriel is in an undercover mission.
She is to watch someone who went out on a flower outing.
She prepared an outfit that doesn't stand out... but she was wrong.
「Hm. This will do. No one will notice me in this outfit.」

6. Season Event

■ Details: Complete 2 missions every day to claim Mercenary Piece, Diamond, Horseshoe, and other various rewards.

Accounts that were created before the May 9th Update will have access to this event normally for 40 days until Jun 18th.
The renewed version will include Exalted Scrolls in the reward and it will become available starting from Jun 21st.

Introducing the new Exalted Group, 'Fatebearer'!
The Fatebearers stand at the heart of the four most crucial fates across endless spaces, times, and realms.
Each Fatebearer faces one critical choice in their lifetime.
This choice has the power to alter numerous worlds, dimensions, and fates.
To ensure the Fatebearers make their destined choice and no other, the 'Destineers' oversee all but one of them.

We would like to share additional information regarding the recent Solo Raid (BETA) error and some of the Jump-Start Quest Mission Rewards.

Solo Raid(BETA) is has not been officially released yet as it is still in beta mode. We released the mode in beta first to ensure we can collect the feedback from our Captains for a better release. We expected some aspects of the gamemode to require some improvements, but the recent 'level adjustments not applying' error caused more inconveniences than we expected and we sincerely apologize for that.

Also, we are currently in a situation where it is difficult for us to figure out exactly which Captains were affected by this error and lost points.
As such, we will be providing the compensation to all Captains instead of just those who were affected by this issue. We apologize and hope for your understanding regarding this.

The issue that we mentioned has been fixed. So the one-time reward of the Exalted Skill Book from the Score Rewards can be claimed normally by our Captains during Beta Season 2 which will begin next week. Since this reward does not reset, Captains who could not receive this reward this Season isn't actually missing out on the total rewards.

As a compensation for Captains who had to wait an extra season to claim the point rewards as well as Captains who received a lower ranking than they were meant to receive,
we will be providing an apology compensation on top of the Rank 1 Reward (minus the exclusive title) to all Captains.

As for the new Jump-Start Quest missions that were added on the Apr 11th Update.

The Jump-Start Quest Round 65 mission 'Fully Rank Boost an Exalted Mercenary 1 time' mission requires the Captain to fully rank boost an Exalted Mercenary after the addition of this mission to complete it.
This was meant to be a guide for New and Returning Captains to adjust to the current game and provide rewards for it.
As for the Captains who have been actively playing the game, we assumed it would be okay as we had planned to release a new Exalted Mercenary on the upcoming May Update.
However, Captains who had already finished Rank Boosting all 4 available Exalted Mercenaries were stuck on this mission as they had no convenient way of completing it at this point.
We gathered the feedback from Captains who wanted to quickly finish this quest and prepared the following compensation.

All Captains will receive the Exalted Mercenary 'Pyran'.
As we briefly mentioned above, a new Exalted Mercenary is planned to be released during the May Update.
Captains who want to finish this quest as soon as possible can decide to upgrade this new Pyran that are being sent out.
Captains who would like to plan out a more efficient way to finish this can decide to wait for the release of the new Exalted Mercenary on May as well.

[Jump-Start Quest Compensation]
Compensation Target: All Captains
Compensation Period: Apr 17th Announcement - 10:00 May 1st 2024 (UTC) -Once upon log-in
Compensation: Exalted Mercenary 'Pyran'

We realize that the solution above doesn't quite solve the innate issue of this system, but this is the best solution we could come up with in the current situation.
We also recognize that some Captains would like adjustments for other Jump-Start Quest missions such as 'Bestow Insignia of Creed' and 'Use Legend Scrolls'.
However, the currently final mission of the Jump-Start Quest was designed to be somewhat difficult to complete, and we feel that these missions difficulty is in the right spot at the moment, so we will not be making adjustments to them.

Lastly, there have been Captains asking for some announcements about the Underground Arena and Tournament network issues.
We will monitor how the new fixes that were applied to these game modes on Apr 11th will affect the April Tournament and make an official announcement after.

1. New PvE Mode 'Solo Raid (BETA)' Added
New Challenge Mode: Solo Raid (BETA) will be added.
After the BETA season, we will go over the feedback from our Captains before releasing it officially.
[Raid Skills]
Solo Raid is a mode where Captains are provided random pool of skills that they can strategically select from to defeat the monster.
All Captains will receive the same 20 skills out of the 26 available. Using specific skills together will unlock a set skill.
Formula for the set skills will be shown on the Set Skill Encyclopedia.
Captains can choose to use 3 skills that do not work a set skill.
It could be a strategic choice to give up on the set skill for 3 skills that are most effective for your build.
There will be a cost to change the selected skill and there is a set limit on how many times a skill can be changed.
We recommend practicing in the Training Center sufficiently before attempting the actual fight .

[Major Rules]
The fight will persist for 3 rounds and up to 9 Mercenaries can be deployed.
The following limitations will be applied
Only up to 1 Mythic Mercenary can be used. (No Limit for Legend/Exalt Mercenaries)
Spell Cards cannot be used.
There are prohibited Skills.

[Reward]
Captains will be ranked depending on the amount of DMG they dealt to the monster for their seasonal rewards.
Rewards will be provided according to the Captains' rankings after the Season ends.

For Captains to ranked #1 on Solo Raid will receive a special limit-time Title.
[Training Center]
Training Center will be available so that Captains can prepare for the battle.
Captains will be able to find the list of bosses that are available to practice.
Raid Skills including the Set Skills can be freely changed in this mode.
Results of the Training Center will not affect the Rankings and Rewards.
[Schedule]
During the BETA Season, 'Crystal Queen Luminous' will appear.
BETA Season will follow the schedule below.
BETA Season 1: Apr 11th Update - 19:59 Apr 17th 2024 (UTC).
BETA Season 2: 20:00 Apr 24th - 19:59 May 1st 2024 (UTC).

1 new Raid Skill Slot will be unlocked each day after the Season Starts.
Captains will receive 4 chances to attack during the Season. During each attempt a new Raid Skill Slot will be unlocked.
For Example)
1st Attempt: 1 skill slot unlocked.
2nd Attempt: 2 skill slots unlocked.
3rd Attempt: 3 skill slots unlocked.
4th Attempt: 3 skill slots + set skill unlocked.

Captains who start participating in this mode mid-season will also receive 4 attempts total.
It is even possible for a Captain to join on the last day of the Season to use up all 4 attempts in a single day.

2. New Jump-Start Quest Missions
Jump-Start Quest Round 63 - Round 72 added.
These new quest rounds will be available to all Captains including those who already completed all previous 62 rounds and those who have not started the Jump-Start Quest yet.
On the final reward of Round 72, '1 of the 7 Templar Mercenaries' can be selected as a reward. The Mercenary from this reward will be provided as a +9 level 90 Awakened Mercenary.

3. New Costume
Genderbent Pyran Costume added

Genderbent Pyran
Pyran was tinkering with time, attempting to journey back into the past.
In the process, something went wrong.
However, a mistake of his had disrupted the settings causing changes to his body...

「Ugh... why are the snakes suddenly so clingy?」

4. Season Event

5. Mini Game: Brave Survival: Carlson's Journey (Updated)
The Mini Game that many of our Captains voted as their 'favorite' is now back!
Try the new Brave Survival: Carlson's Journey with the new balance changes! Attempt to reach a high score!
[Mini Game Information]
Drag around the screen to move Carlson.
(On Steam Server's PC Client, Captains can use Keyboard and Mouse to move)
Move around the map and defeat the monsters that show up. Beat the boss monsters, gain exp for levels and items to strengthen your character.
Level-up will provide 3 choices, select 1 to obtain.
(Obtaining the same skill multiple times will strengthen the skill.)

Once the character's HP reaches 0, they will die. If the character does not have resurrect or any form of skills that activate upon death, the mini-game will be over.
Final score will be calculated depending on how long the character survived and how many monsters were killed.

[How to Participate]
- Go to the [Main Lobby] > [Events] > [Brave Survival] to play the mini-game.
There is no requirement or play limit, so enjoy it to your heart's content.

While Brave Survival is available, a new Daily Mission 'Play Brave Survival' will be added.
Play the mini game and obtain the daily mission reward.
Daily Mission reward will provide 1 of the following items below.

When multiple forms of Stone Skin is applied, the strongest (The one that makes the Mercenary take the least amount of DMG) will be applied.
> This is a change that we are making to prevent issues from happening with the Stone Skin skill being added to the Solo Raid.

Underground Arena and Tournament Connection Waiting Period Increased.
> This is a change made to lessen the cases where Captains were losing connection during Tournaments.


8. Bug Fixes
Fate gifts sometimes showing an error when pressing on the gift image for a long time.
Red Dot on the Event Icon not disappearing.
Ryde's Soul Disturbance Magic not being removed.
Babariba's additional dmg not activating from Mercenary's who were affected by Sylphid Spell Card.

A lot of our Captains have been wanting to see the results of the recent Survey Event that was held between Mar 11th - 17th.
While some of the results were briefly mentioned in the 7th Anniversary Video, we put together summarized results in a written form for the Captains who would prefer to read through it.

Favorite Updates
1st Place: Battle Skip and Rune Enchant Skip. Skip-related QoL Improvement features were the most liked update by our Captains.

2nd Place: New Mercenary Update was the 2nd most liked by our Captains.
By Grade, Exalted Mercenaries received the most responses. Captains using the English and Japanese Language mentioned this the most while Captains using Korean and Chinese Languages did not mention it as much.

3rd Place: Background PvP Feature also received a lot of likes from our Captains.
This was mentioned the most by Captains using the Japanese Language followed by Captains using Korean and Chinese Languages.
Captains using the English language did not mention this as much.
Favorite Mini Games
'Brave Survivor: Carlson's Adventure' ranked the most liked receiving 51.5% responses. This was the case for all languages involved.
2nd place was Yuridori Run, 3rd place was the Yuridori Slice
Carlson's Adventure also received the 3rd most likes for the New Mini Game Idea poll following the ideas for Puzzle Game and Defense Game.
A lot of our Captains want to see Carlson's Adventure return after some balance and reward structure changes.


Mini Game Ideas
This is a response about the type of Mini Games that Captains would like to see updated.
Mostly, a lot of the Captains wanted to see Puzzle Games followed by Defense Games. There were also a ton of Captains wanting to see Carlson's Adventure return after going through some renewal.
Captains who said that they do not enjoy mini-games ranked 6 on the poll as well.
Mercenary Skill Idea
There were a ton of fun and creative ideas that were shared.
Because there were so many different ideas, we couldn't put out a statistical result. We will be going through them one by one for future reference within the team.
Here are some of the examples of interesting ideas from our Captains.

Mercenaries who receive additional PEN and ATK based on their base Crit Chance (Making Fatal Rune useful)
Twin Mercenaries with Co-op Attack
Mercenary with a really strong effect that can only be activated after meeting specific conditions
Supporter who steals enemy HP and providing it as overheal to allies
A Defender who accumulates received DMG to counterattack and heals based on the counterattacked DMG
Warrior and Magician who synergize with each other like Kaede and Haruna
A Mercenary who activates additional effects against isolated Mercenaries (Mercenary with no adjacent allies)
Mercenaries whose range changes depending on their target's class
Mercenary that summons a copy of the defeated enemy on the allies' field
Mercenaries that fuse to become stronger when 2 or more of them meet specific conditions

What We Want from Brave Nine
Just like the Mercenary Skill Ideas, this is not something we could put together with statistical results. We will be looking through them all individually within the team.
Some of the responses from this have been answered directly on the video, all the other responses will also be looked at and we will do our best to act on them in future updates.
