Unable to ready up

When it says to ready up it shows the icon for mousewheel forward, which doesn't do anything, though. No keyboard press does anything either. I changed a few controls, like switching mousewheel forward to backward for changing gadgets, but this and attack stream range are the only controls that use the mousewheel. There isn't a key for readying up in the controls either. What can I do without switching to controller?...

I mostly played GSUEE solo with bots and was quite surprised how much experience I was getting, I levelled up very fast.
