Happy New Year 2024, Wandmakers!

As the mushrooms slowly wake up from their hibernation, I want to share a few updates with you.

To kick off 2024, I have some news—maybe not the best, but certainly not the worst. In a nutshell, we've 'almost' run out of cash to keep the game's development going. However, don't fret; development isn't stopping, just slowing down.

We've been considering a Kickstarter campaign since months ago, but that won't kick off until at least March or April. I'll keep you in the loop as we prepare for this exciting step. And hey, if you're a publisher interested in the game, I'd LOVE to have a chat so please reach out at contact@mushroomallow.com.

Demo Departure

The public demo of Wonder Wandelier will be taken down on Sunday, Jan 7 at 4 pm UTC. We've received a ton of invaluable feedback from you, and now it's time to roll up our sleeves and get to work.
We'll still be on the lookout for testers in the future, so if you're interested, hop on our Discord[discord.gg], as that's where we'll be spreading the news.

What's Next?

For the next few months, we're shifting gears to focus on enhancing the game's visuals. While the core mechanics are pretty much ready, we believe it's time for Wonder Wandelier to get a visual glow-up. And this isn't just for aesthetics; it's also a strategic move to elevate our marketing.

Wonder Wandelier will also be included in the Steam Capitalism and Economy Fest from Jan 8 - 15. Join us for an exclusive gameplay video with dev commentary premiering during the fest!

Also, I can't spill the tea yet, but we're cooking up some side projects to keep the funds flowing. One of it is a tiny cozy game about a very loooong boy, set to launch very soon. Please look forward to it!

the ranged attack is a bit... off.

probably better if you program it to use the right stick to aim and rt to shoot, rather than hold A, aim and then RT to shoot. --- also.. the wood trimming mini game would at some point kill controller sticks.. granted, no one in their right mind would do it more than once (per new wand)...

Hello Wandmakers!

New updates have just rolled out from the workshop. The update includes updated visuals, some optimizations, and more fixes. Details are listed below.

Content Update

Updated character sprites
Added a character position tracker in the dungeon by pressing the F3 button, so you can report bugs more accurately to us
Added damage numbers to Pucelle when hit by enemies
Added an 'X' sign if you fail a quest

Optimizations

Changed the button prompt position when interacting with Watcher (Q/Exit on the left, E/Talk on the right)
Changed the position of 'Required Material' from left to right in the Crafting screen
Updated highlighted words in the dialogue box with a larger font
Reapplied occlusion culling to the 2D environment assets

Fixes

Fixed bushes LOD
Fixed loading screen
Fixed overlapping quest text
Fixed wrong button prompts in some UI screens
Fixed the store collider. No more passing through the wall now
Fixed the collider of stone rubbles and pink mushroom disks in the dungeon
Fixed character movement/animation when standing on the edge of a platform
Fixed the issue that makes the cursor disappear when moving from one tab to another in the menu

The Mushrooms Desperately Need a Break...

We also want to inform you that after a year of developing non-stop, Mushroomallow will take a break this December and will continue development again in January 2024. We will still reply and take note of all bug reports and suggestions we receive, but we'll address them in January.

For Playtesters

We decided to deactivate the playtest build on December 10 at 11 pm WIB (UTC+7). But once again, if you miss it, you can still play Wonder Wandelier from the demo build, which will be available at all times. Our Discord server is also available at all times if you want to send your feedback.

PLAYTEST IS LIVE until Nov 25! BUT

Hi Steam folks and Wandmakers!

I promise I'm not trying to drop a surprise title on you, but after noticing that many registered playtesters are a bit confused about how 'open signup' works, we've decided to launch the playtest build as a demo available to everyone at all times (or until further notice).

So, until November 25 (11 pm WIB to be exact cuz I need sleep ok?), you'll find two options on our page: one for the playtest and the other for the demo. But they both have the exact same build.

Here's the deal—we've already sent a notification email to our registered playtesters when we made the call to upload the demo. If we close the playtest right away, those registered playtesters who haven't downloaded the game might get confused wondering why it's not working. So, here's me crossing my fingers that they read this announcement because I don't want to spam them with emails.

The demo will drop a bit later today, including the latest patch to fix some bugs and unpolished bits we stumbled upon. The playtest build will also get this patch. More updates will be rolled out soon!

Character Art Update

We're also updating Wonder Wandelier character art!

Our artist is still hard at work on the new character art for Totti, Gochinco, and Pekepeke, but they'll soon make their debut in the game. Any favorites so far? (Besides our best girl Pucelle, of course)
