Why is circular chess the only thing in vs ai

can we get enemy highlights that would make the game a little more fun for dumb people like me. also i understand that you can move you piece that is protecting your king but is there a way to warn you that you are about to kill your own king. also more colors? like a darker mode or maybe be able to pick your own colors for each tile on the board....

When promoting in the AI mode the screen pops up for you to promote, then when you click on the piece nothing happens.

The game seems fun but I think being able t have 2 players on the same system locally would be great. Either for playing "against" yourself or play with other people in the same room.
