This vs Kara no Shojo?

I own Kara no Shojo but never got around to play it. Now I see this version exists and I'm wondering if I should buy this. I would love to play on the Steam deck or with a controller, so a bit modernization is already great.

Almost bought this game

I was so close to rebuying this game on Johren until I saw they added the DRM to the store page after the game releases. The most draconian DRM I’ve seen this century. Nah. I’m good. I’m on my knees praying that the third one isn’t like this but I know my heart will be broken....

One of the most vile VNs I have ever played, and I have played many horror VNs.
Highly recommend this if you like detective, mystery, and psychological horror stuff, and can deal with gruesome ♥♥♥♥.
I had absolutely no interest in the H scenes, however I did end up downloading the patch because, along with the H scenes, the gore was heavily censored, making crime scenes difficult to examine, so I recommend downloading it from Shiravune's website.

I honestly enjoyed this quite much. Though I gotta be honest, the true ending, and the fact that we couldn't even get a chance to actually talk to Shinji was legit super underwhelming in my opinion. I expected to... at least...find HER. Welp time to be depressed I guess.
