🚂 New campaign levels! 🗺️

Hello there!

Just as we've promised in our roadmap, we're bringing you 4 more singleplayer levels. Find them in your campaign level selection screen, after you restart and receive the update.

More levels = more stars to earn, so we changed price of T5 locomotives and Specialists to 3. You may see a negative star balance if you completed the game already - instead of locking some of your Tech tree purchases we decided to let you play new levels and get more stars.

We've also fully researched teleportation technology first discovered by our trains with waypoints in their orders list. Fixed the bug and reused that transfer of matter and energy knowledge for one of our new levels :)

Our next updates will introduce a level editor - the same one we're using to build our train valleys - and workshop support for all your custom level sharing needs.

Two trains stuck at opposite sides of signal

How do you recover? I created an additional track, but I would need one train to reverse a little to let the other train reach it without crashing. Is there no way to recover from a deadlock? To be completely specific, it's actually two different signals very close together, but the same thing could happen with one signal, right? Just bought the game, because of Expert mode....

Expert mode: U-turn

I don't think it's necessary to simulate the turning process, as I can easily imagine that there are switchyards where trains would realistically turn around. This level of detail doesn't need to be included in the gameplay and can be left to the player's imagination. We have to draw ridiculous circles, and the loop tracks often cross the second and third tracks of the station, making those almost unusable. This complicates everything far more than necessary. 🚦 Signals & Expert Mode OUT NOW! 🛑

Hey Train Enthusiasts!

Firstly, we want to thank you all for your feedback and suggestions on Train Valley World, after reading multiple comments here and on our Discord, we've decided to add a new difficulty level with several gameplay-changing mechanics that you will all be able to experience in our latest update, available right now! Head on over to your library to update!

What is new?

Expert mode: Rail signals, train explosions, and mandatory U-turns at every station.
Both campaign and multiplayer levels were updated for Expert mode compatibility.

Expert mode can be enabled with a toggle on the campaign map. Doing so will disable train ghosting, turning trains around at stations without additional rail loops, and enable train collisions and signal building.

A separate signals tutorial will be available at all times with the '?' button next to the signal placing mode toggle.

Howto choose next level?

I've finished level 1 and am on the world map but it's zoomed In a bit and I can't choose the next level can't move map about and can't zoom in or out, playing with resolution doesn't do anything either, how do I figure this out? On steamdeck

Little Adventure

Great combination of the genre tycoon game and train simulator. I like it as for an inexperienced player in such genres. Each level is dedicated to its own theme: the Wild West, building a submarine in the spirit of Captain Nemo, even the level with local Godzilla. Yes, it’s eclectic, but it’s very fun and every new level is intriguing.

Beautiful graphics, nice non-tangled music. Moderate challenges and pleasant gameplay .

The star/reward system is not fun. As soon as the 1st star is achieved, the game abruptly ends before you can achieve the 2nd star. Boo this. Every 3rd star is a time challenge which feels a bit stale. Each level feels identical.

Not very fun. Rather slow gameplay. The the over the top micromanaging is made difficult with a hard to use UI. It's not just that you have to micromanage trains (which is the point and can be fun on it's own), you must micromanage every single piece of cargo.

How does Signal Mode work exactly?

It seems to turn on at some point -- is it a penalty because I've restarted so many times? Can it be turned off? H doesn't do anything.

This past week since the release was a bit of a wild ride with all your feedback and suggestions :) We've decided to address most pressing improvements we could address in that limited time and are uploading an update for Train Valley World today.

What is new?

We've rebalanced most Tier 1, 2 and 3 locomotives as well as Ohio and August
Right mouse button as well as touchpad are now supported as a way to move your camera
You can now invite your friends to a multiplayer game through Steam
You can now see in-progress games in multiplayer menu

What was fixed?

Camera zooming is now easier to set up and use - it is not FPS-dependent anymore
Scrolling your level with WASD while pressing Shift/Ctrl buttons will not make your camera stuck moving in that direction anymore
Linux users with Proton and SteamOS users now have Steam services working while playing
Technology tree and The Great Stink tutorials should now properly track your actions
You will no longer get stuck in the first tutorial by completing it with 0 stars
Fixed some destructible objects that stopped blocking you when building rails in the first tutorial level
We've added a hint to make the process of saving Curupira (level 6) more transparent
It is no longer possible to assign the same button to two different actions
Yardmaster specialists now work as intended - reassigning them to another train removes additional cars immediately
Multiplayer games will now display chosen player colors instead of defaulting to red and blue
