Major Demo Update For Steam Scream Fest

Over the last few weeks, we've been making some changes to the game and demo, a lot of which is thanks to your feedback.

So in tandem with The Steam Scream Fest, we've just released an update to the demo.

Stamina rework

While we're still working on stamina implementation, in the current version aiming does not drain stamina.

Steam Deck Support

Multiple performance and UI tweaks for a better Steam Deck experience.

Gameplay Changes

Aim assist is now off by default
Herbs restore 40 stamina now
Stomp no longer damages if dodged into
Improved enemy pathfinding

New Combat Demo and Gameplay Trailer

Hello fellow investigators.

We have some very exciting news from our team.

We have launched an updated demo with our much-awaited combat gameplay.

It took a little longer than we planned but that's because when we got down to it, we decided we wanted to do this right and with some extra flare to really add to the gameplay. What we finally managed to come up with and get working is in our opinion, quite cool.

Of course, don't just take our word for it. Download the new demo and try it out yourselves! We'll be adding additional language support to part 2 in the next few days while part 1 has been translated for all the languages listed here on Steam.

You might want to take the Demo down, its awful.

Its probably one of the worst demos iv ever played to the point I unwishlisted the game. Just not a good way of going about a demo to excite people. Live and learn I guess.

Worst Decision In Combat Design. A Terrible Gimmick For The Sake of Artificial Difficulty.

Just because you thought "that could be cool and new" doesn't mean you should implement it when you didn't account of what is actually going to happen and how it affect the balance of the game. In the end, what we have is not a fair challenge but a tedious gimmick with punishment in return. First of all, health shares the same bar with energy - that means the lower you health you have the more you are likely to get effed without much chance to retaliate. Then a dodge/kick costs like almost 3 full energy ...

TPS aiming looks dreadfully generic

I really love the rest of the game, especially the driving showcase, but the over the shoulder TPS aiming just feels like such an awful copout. It looks bad, the recoil looks bad, the generic reticule just pasted on the screen looks awful, and it seems to contrast so heavily with the rest of the artstyle/gameplay. I don't necessarily mind the idea of changing perspective for combat, but I wish aiming was more diagetic, in world. I think the most jarring is the grenade throwing which has a really awkwar...

I loved everything about it but the camera switch

The switch into shooting mode is what drew me into the game, but the fact that the rooms are so small there's barely any distance with what you want to shoot, the camera is *incredibly* sensitive and how much the enemies themselves move. It's very hard to aim. My major problem with it is that it requieres energy to even aim, you can barely hit a few times if you're lucky, but at 25% health you can barely even shoot once and not even likely it will be to what you're trying to aim. I really hope it doesn't...
