As The Unfettered team, it is very important for us to keep our players informed about the development process of the game. We want to show our players what a transparent team we are and enable them to imagine what kind of game they will face with the release of the early access version. Furthermore, the suggestions made by the players are extremely valuable to us. We hope that by publishing these biweekly reviews, we will be able to show where we are in the process and allow our players to make suggestions about the relevant process, so they can actively participate in the game-development process of The Unfettered. So, we are here with another bi-weekly review of The Unfettered.

To begin with, every part of the development is proceeding at full speed for the early access release. Gameplay and effects are very important in action RPG games. Players want to visually confirm the result of every move they make with strong effects, and they take pleasure in that. In order to provide this to our players, the disintegration effect has been developed on defeated enemies, which is the effect you will encounter most in the game - To save Ashtanna, you will need to defeat many enemies.

One of the most crucial aspects influencing players' enjoyment of action-RPG games is the "intelligence" of the enemies they will encounter. Artificial intelligence (AI) is programming that allows specific characters in a game, like non-player characters (NPCs) and enemies, to act as though they were directed by a person or owned their own minds. Nobody enjoys defeating an enemy who is only running on the pole. To achieve this and provide a better gaming experience for our players, improvements have been made to the AI of the enemies.

Every player wants their gaming character to be unique and compatible with their own playing style. This is accomplished by determining and building unique skill combinations for each character. The "Skill Tree" is being created and developed in The Unfettered in order to provide this diversity. Players will be able to play with characters who are more oriented to their own games once development is completed. The main character in the game will have active and passive skills that can be determined by the player.

The character's interaction with the environment and objects is a fundamental component in RPG games. The animations of lootable objects have been improved, increasing the realism of the game and helping the user better channel into it. In RPG games, looting has a direct impact on gameplay. At this point, metrics such as the luck factor in looted objects should be precisely determined in order to provide the optimum gaming experience. In the last two weeks, significant progress has been made on loot animation and the looting luck factor.

As we enter December, the last month of 2022, we’re here with our bi-weekly review to inform those who are curious about the development process of The Unfettered.
Development of The Unfettered, which is a both fun and challenging process, is in full swing in all aspects including developments and improvements based on feedback from our testers, for its early access release.

As you know The Unfettered is an upcoming action role-playing game (RPG). An essential feature of RPG games is the character's variety of interactions with the environment and objects. Increasing the realism of the game and allowing the player to better channel into the game, the number of these interactable objects (like opening the door by pulling the door mechanism) has been increased in The Unfettered and interaction customization parameters have been added on the developer panel.

Thereafter, breakable walls have been developed that allow players to leave the current area and move to a new area/map and can be opened/closed based on damage or multifunctional situations such as interactions with NPCs' or sitting on a savepoints. Then these breakable walls were integrated into the game.

In order to improve the saving system, existing problems on saving have been fixed and the system has been rewritten for all situations that are requested to be saved by making a distinction between runtime and Josha the savepoint.

Along with these, the new camera perspective, which provides a more systematic view of the game, has been developed and integrated into the game. Especially in RPG games, players have variable camera perspective preferences due to the differences in playing game habits. The Unfettered has integrated this new camera perspective to improve the gameplay quality and meet the different desires of the players.

Another of the improvements made is on "frames per second (FPS)". FPS, which is a term used to describe how smooth something like a video or a video game plays, is deemed important, especially action games. Players, of course, want the game to be played smoothly especially during the fights. In order to achieve this, FPS optimizations were made in The Unfettered.
