I've implemented weapon and vehicle parameter upgrades using money that can be earned not only by winning races but also by defeating opponents.
Boring but important details:

• The price and upgrade level of a parameter are displayed.
  
• Indication of insufficient funds or reaching the maximum upgrade level.
  
• Front spikes. They are not on the vehicle when the parameter is at 0 (visible only in the race, the vehicle doesn't change in the shop).
  
• Reward for each defeated enemy (plus, of course, the reward for 1st place).
  
• Text localization.
